Cops got to have a good reason to pull you over.
For instance if you had a dead body in your trunk (car) and they didn't have probable cause, then the case of you murdering that dead body will not go through in court.
At least that's what I have heard a few times from different people.

That's pretty crazy. I have heard of getting a "salvaged title" from the DMV. But that's all I know about that

See what the number is on the frame and what the front nameplate by your knees/shins on the scooter.
The VIN number will go on the title and I believe it was on the MCO when I got my scooter titled.
Giving this guy the benefit of the doubt, hopefully it was a mistake and he has the exact MCO for it. But when you said he said it was for "recreational use" is a red flag he was conning you. Its not like you bought a dirt bike or 4 wheeler or off road vehicle.
Keep all the information on this guy. If you think you were conned you can contact the police and they can make a police report and sort it out if need be.

I live in Virginia
First to get registered you need your title and Insurance proof
Registration costs about $30 every year just like a car
Next you can go ANYWHERE that does STATE INSPECTIONS. A state inspector can do inspections on scooters/motorcycles as well as the usual car or truck.
It costs $12 for an inspection on motorcycles/50+cc scooter
When I had my inspection they only checked to make sure the engine starts and idles, headlights, horn, blinkers, brake lights, hazard lights. It took longest for them at the Dodge dealership to process the sticker.
Now with your scooter now legal to ride.
Yes you can get a m/c only license. You can take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation skills course Basic which costs about 130-150 bucks. Classes fill up quick, you should get a class immediately
Or just get your Permit wait 30 days then practice the course in the mean time

I always use my GPS for figuring speed and distance.
With any vehicle just fill up, go til empty and fill up again and take the miles on GPS / Gallons to fill up.
I don't even keep track of odometer miles

Well I figured it out, I ordered a new horn. I tested the old one and it would work for a second or two then stop. Try the button again and jiggling the wires, nothing. I replaced the connectors and same thing it just does a little click or pop. At least I know my switch is okay.
Hazard light I just bought another switch $7 with shipping.
Lastly I got my second small pair of headlights to work, all it took was doing a long waited pdi of the wire connectors. The headlights have 4 wires each a pair going to the main and smaller headlights and the one pair of blades wasn't contacting.
It was a very minor problem I've known about for a year now owning my scooter but I'm still glad I waited because I wasn't confident trying to go through all the connections before.
Also I upgraded my headlights from 25/25 watt headlights to 40/45 watt bulbs. While I had my front plastics off.

Okay I have my front cover off I took off the connector behind the horn switch. With scooter running I took a loop of wire from the horn connector to the other part of it. No Honk. So I guess I need to check the horn itself. I'm hoping all I have to do is jiggle more connections on the horn. I don't want to buy a new horn or switch if I don't need to. Other problem, My hazard button works just it wont stay on blinking, I have to hold it to keep it blinking. Would replacing the hazard switch button solve this? Also I'm trying to get the 2nd pair of lights above the bottom headlights to turn on? They are on top the headlights, never seen them on. By the way.... Both bottom headlights work, both brake lights work, turn signals work, Starts up and idles good. My headlights start out dim then get brighter with my throttle. Attachments:

I was cutting the grass and I just moved my scooter. Went on around the house then I found it on its left side! So like it was somebody hurt, I rushed over and picked it up and stood back up. Let it sit a minute and tried starting. Started shooting gas out the engine vent, Mine I have a length of fuel line attached with a filter on the end up to where my evap. canister was. It would start up, but shot out gassy oily fluid. So I knew what I was going to have to do. I checked the oil, and sure enough it started a fountain of gas/oil coming out (I had my oil pan under in case). I just changed the gear oil. I put in my Mobil 1 15,000 mile extended performance oil in. I had extra from my car. Also I was taking apart the engine Intake, Carb, snorkel and lines anyway. Got all this done and started up fine. Just was real white smokey opening up the throttle going around the yard. So I guess I'll need to run it some more miles and then change the oil again to get all the fuel out. Any other suggestions?
