What do you mean Ebay Chinese Parts are fake ? I thought they were genuine Honda GY6 parts ... Ummm they Genuine Honda parts...ya see the Chinese are just very modest..and they don't want to steal the spotlight or money from the high profit margin Japanese... So they stamp Japanese names on them so Japan can at least get the credit for making such high quality items... Oh and btw...about that ocean front Beach House I have for sale in Utah...you still interested?... ;D

[replyingto=steveward3928]SteveWard3928[/replyingto]Good question as I see some scoots in the shop that come with them. Only reason I have one is because I was told it wouldn't interfere with my scoots stereo system radio.

[replyingto=reynoldston]reynoldston[/replyingto]Not saying all Ebay parts are bad myself. Just relaying what my wholesaler Luna Lau in China told me about smaller low end companies in China selling items even if they are stamped with an X or * which means it did not pass. I suggest as she...alleyoop and myself do..which is find a good seller on there and stick with them. I have found that even if they don't have the part you need...email them and they can get them as they get their parts from more than one distributor. I get about % of my parts from her company...but they carry very few performance items...so I am forced to look elsewhere. The vendor alleyoop mentioned not only sells top notch items...the quality and customer service is way over the top. His prices may be a bit higher..but quality is not cheap. Ask yourself...would you rather pay him $29.00 for a known good racing CDI..or end up buying 3 from somebody at $14. until you get one that works.

Walt...how did they know they were 80..are they marked or did they measure them?... eesh they got nothing better to do? Yikes..$15,000 is a big chunk of change. I hope they make it right with you.. Nothing better to do? they are just doing their job as customs agents en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CustomsSorry was a sad attempt at humor. While in the military we passed through customs with things many times..and they just waived us through as they drank their coffee and chatted. That is what I meant by better things to do... Maybe they entrusted us to not violate the laws...or maybe their coffee and stories of last nights events was more important. Next time I will explain in better detail...or just avoid humor altogether..

I almost never buy stuff on ebay. Way too much low grade or counterfeit stuff to catch you. Counterfeit is right! She also told me a few companies there in China stamp AirSal..NCY and Naraku on their parts. They get investigated by the Chinese authorities...but nothing is ever done and they simply continue to do it. They are a very poor country and the American dollar is a lot to them. My wholesaler there told me she works 10 hours 6 days per week...and makes in a week what the lower end middle class American earns in one eight hour shift.

Problem is...they use the same speedo on the 10" wheels as they do the 12" and 13" ones. The 10" wheels being smaller rotate faster and give a false reading. My 12" wheels with high profile tires makes my speedo only off by 2mph via GPS. My gf scoot has 10" wheels. It was off by 11mph. No guarantees here but...the needle is only pressed on...so what I did with hers was..pull the needle...then using needle nose pliers I rotated the shaft to what I guessed would be 10-11mph...held shaft in place and pressed needle back on. It is now off by 2mph GPS...but the bad part being the needle won't move off from its resting post until you get going about 6-7mph. It is ok with us though...as we have yet to encounter a 5mph speed limit sign..

[replyingto=chihuahuas]chihuahuas[/replyingto]As many say here...and running a parts/repair shop..I agree with them in that there are several grades of Chinese parts. While they all look fine...and look the same...many are trash. I have seen customers buy parts from Ebay for me to install. BBK's..performance CVT's etc. I noticed some had an X stamped on them or an * mark. Asked my wholesaler in China if she knew what it meant. She said.."These are products you should not have, marks of such indicate items that are improper made. They do not have correct fitment if metal item or fail testing if electrical item. I assure we never send you these. Those items we make send to our salvage workers for reclaim of materials" Told her I have NEVER gotten anything from them except top quality products...and that the items came from Ebay. She said.."No Glenn, be careful on Ebay, as much manufacture here sell defective item in bulk package for very cheap price. Then Ebay member may sell them much below other prices on there, so they sell a bigger quantity than those of which are selling the good products." Told her I don't buy from Ebay UNLESS I am very sure it is a good item and from one of the 5 folks I have bought from for years.. Sorry to hear you got junk. That is why tvacman on here is a good resource..he checks and tests the parts. Scrappydog...partsforscooters and all those listed in the banners above are well know for delivering quality parts. I would stick with them.

[replyingto=rockynv]rockynv[/replyingto]As rockynv said...if they want it bad enough...they WILL find a way to get it. My mother who is 74 has a friend from Church the same age. The guy must be very naive cause....for 9 days he kept seeing a dark green truck come down his street.....slow WAY down as they passed his house and were eyeballing everything. Well..he USED to have a mint condition mid 70's MBG convertible with about 30,000 original miles on it. He went away for the weekend to stay with his daughter. The 'Green Truck' boys came back..got in the side door of his garage..opened the front door and backed in a Jerr-Dan tilt bed recovery/tow truck vehicle... in broad daylight! Then hauled it off. A few neighbors saw it happen but paid it no mind cause he had mentioned he listed it on Craigslist....so they just thought he sold it. But then I am very certain many crooks do use Craigslist to find items they want to steal.... instead of cruising all the roads looking...all they gotta do is log onto Craigslist..jot down what looks appealing to them...then go peruse and scope out the area. Brilliant dirty trash bastards.

I have personally been in wrecks that the only thing that kept me 100% injury free was the seat belt and shoulder harness. And yes with the belt on I can still duck down if the need came to be. Sadly not all cars are like that i.e. our PT Crusier...once belted in you can't move!! It holds ya tight...in fact I can't even reach forward enough to use the cigarette lighter or get my RC Cola from the cup holder. The car I sold recently..a Mazda Miata...you could move all over once belted in....but tap the brakes and the belt locked..holding you in place... Even a barely felt bumper tap on another car while parallel parking and it locked in place. Either Chrysler needs to fix the issue in that line of cars...or possibly ours is defective..

[replyingto=sylvrekat]SylvreKat[/replyingto]What....the old site is closed?..well no d@mn wonder it won't let me post over there...I thought all the posts were old cause folks were just too busy out riding... On a serious note....ryan52 on here is a buddy of mine and lives about 3/4 mile down the road from me. He bought 4 brand new Tao Tao Cy50-T3 scoots for his family. As ALL TaoTao's....they come jetted very lean. Don't feel bad about being 240..it is not your scoots speed problem..cause I am a beefy 146lbs myself and the 3 new CY50-T3 TaoTao's I have ridden only carried my bony @ss about 37mph. They were customer scoots and I cut a slot in the tamper proof carb bowl shear screws...and removed the screws with a standard(flat tip) screwdriver. One scoot had a #68 jet the other 2 were #70..wow talk about lean.. Put a #78 in all three and they ran great and about 42mph....all 3 guys are 200+lbs..not like me..a guy who is probably outweighed by Paris Hilton even. Acceleration and top speed were better for them and they say they still get about the same gas mileage..about 90mpg vice 95mpg. BUT...and you will read many posts on this site about it...the lean jetted Tao Tao's burn up and eat pistons quickly if not up jetted. So better to lose 5mpg than an entire engine..

[replyingto=teddy554]teddy554[/replyingto]Teddy...I had that happen on a stock 50cc CPI engine. Needle bearing cage disintegrated!! My engine looked almost exactly like that. Only got about 200 miles out of a brand new bearing. I did a re-ring job cause the oil pump failed...it soft seized 4 times and wore the rings badly. Cylinder was still well below specs...so I bottle brush honed it..added new rings and figured I should add a new needle bearing as they felt really loose in the cage. Probably from overheating then soft seizing and running with an oil pump that was not working. So I started premixing and used the bearing somebody gave me that came with their NCY kit cause he thought his old one looked fine(Stupid..never add new parts to old parts)...anyway with the 32:1 premix it ran awesome...even got brave and did 3 mile WOT...not a hint of a soft seize. Ran good all week....never got close to a soft seize. Grabbed my fave..a 2 liter RC Cola from the local store....headed out and got up to 35mph...heard an awful crunch and poof! Dead engine. Tore it down and it looked like yours....those lil needles went everywhere..even got few out of the crank with a telescoping magnet....removed the exhaust and shook 3 of them outta that!... Sorry to hear about this...man that just blows..

[replyingto=burnrubber]burnrubber[/replyingto]Does sound like your A/F screw is lean..and possibly your main jet jet too. But first off...is it a 2 stroke or 4 stroke?...then we can go from there. A 2 stroke A/f screw works slightly different than a 4 stroke one does..
