Disclaimer- I don't usually do this, Bash a seller but if you like your scooter and need good parts, You an'it going to find parts cheap on ebay as good as the original parts that came on your bike.
Got a cylinder head of ebay.
Ran it 300 miles Boom.
Valve guides made out of Butter. This head would not get quiet. I adjusted the valves like 6 times. .003, .004. This head made a racket. It didn't sound good. When it got hot it clattered like rocks in a clothes dryer.
Finally the engine died. Lost compression. I pulled the head and checked the valves guides and they were toast. These valves are so loose it's unbelievable.
Also I got a variator stock it wore out 600 miles. Clutch came bad right out of the box.
There is a lesson in here somewhere.

[replyingto=chihuahuas]chihuahuas[/replyingto]As many say here...and running a parts/repair shop..I agree with them in that there are several grades of Chinese parts. While they all look fine...and look the same...many are trash. I have seen customers buy parts from Ebay for me to install. BBK's..performance CVT's etc. I noticed some had an X stamped on them or an * mark. Asked my wholesaler in China if she knew what it meant. She said.."These are products you should not have, marks of such indicate items that are improper made. They do not have correct fitment if metal item or fail testing if electrical item. I assure we never send you these. Those items we make send to our salvage workers for reclaim of materials" Told her I have NEVER gotten anything from them except top quality products...and that the items came from Ebay. She said.."No Glenn, be careful on Ebay, as much manufacture here sell defective item in bulk package for very cheap price. Then Ebay member may sell them much below other prices on there, so they sell a bigger quantity than those of which are selling the good products." Told her I don't buy from Ebay UNLESS I am very sure it is a good item and from one of the 5 folks I have bought from for years.. Sorry to hear you got junk. That is why tvacman on here is a good resource..he checks and tests the parts. Scrappydog...partsforscooters and all those listed in the banners above are well know for delivering quality parts. I would stick with them.

I almost never buy stuff on ebay. Way too much low grade or counterfeit stuff to catch you.

I almost never buy stuff on ebay. Way too much low grade or counterfeit stuff to catch you. Counterfeit is right! She also told me a few companies there in China stamp AirSal..NCY and Naraku on their parts. They get investigated by the Chinese authorities...but nothing is ever done and they simply continue to do it. They are a very poor country and the American dollar is a lot to them. My wholesaler there told me she works 10 hours 6 days per week...and makes in a week what the lower end middle class American earns in one eight hour shift.

Just because you bought the cheapest part you could find on eBay does not make all eBay parts bad.

I am not saying you didn't get junk parts. By any chance they weren't getting proper oil to them?

[replyingto=reynoldston]reynoldston[/replyingto]Not saying all Ebay parts are bad myself. Just relaying what my wholesaler Luna Lau in China told me about smaller low end companies in China selling items even if they are stamped with an X or * which means it did not pass. I suggest as she...alleyoop and myself do..which is find a good seller on there and stick with them. I have found that even if they don't have the part you need...email them and they can get them as they get their parts from more than one distributor. I get about % of my parts from her company...but they carry very few performance items...so I am forced to look elsewhere. The vendor alleyoop mentioned not only sells top notch items...the quality and customer service is way over the top. His prices may be a bit higher..but quality is not cheap. Ask yourself...would you rather pay him $29.00 for a known good racing CDI..or end up buying 3 from somebody at $14. until you get one that works.
