I've got an old 150cc sitting that I've been using as a parts bike. Been sitting about 2 years with head and cylinder removed. Think it's worth putting back together?(with new parts of course). Or should I just scrp the whole thing? Just curious if worth a shot. I haven't looked indie or rust or anything like that yet. It has been outside uncovered.

If not valves, possible ignition trigger going bad? Mine did something similar a couple years ago. 900 miles seems low for it though

New problem

Just had the top end rebuilt a couple weeks ago. Was running perfect until Wednesday. Started hearing a tapping, and figured a valve had loosened. A little further, the exhaust got loud. Stopped and found one nut loose and other gone. Tightened the one and took off again, just trying to get home. Cut out a little bit later. Was running but very bad. Pushed it last couple miles. Reset valves and fixed exhaust and turned it over. Was very weak, and started smoking. The green wire from the stator had the insulation melted and connector starting to melt. Stator going bad? Or another issue?

I had a similar issue in the past where I would have to work the throttle a little bit to get it to stop. I had a piece of rubber had break and got caught in the throttle linkage at the carb. I just pulled it away and was good to go!

Any type will work. You're just using the metal of the driver to short the 2 contacts together.

I bought a cheap belt off eBay once. Idea was to save a few bucks(of course), ended up 5 miles from work and 15 from home. I had less than 75 miles on the belt. I only use Gates now

I had something similar when it warmed up it would lose power. Turned out I had cracks in the air hose from the filter to the carb. Changed it out and running fine now. If it is cracked and sucking extra air in, wrap some duct tape around it until the new part arrives.

Thanks, I got it figured out this morning. Needed a new top end, and just held the sprocket tight on the alignment marks. Got it on perfect 1st time.

Doing a top end rebuild in the morning. My camshaft bearing came apart a few days ago taking the chain off the sprocket. Just wondering when I do the build, is there a way to be sure the chain is on the right point of the pocket? Or is it a guess? I know it needs to be at TDC and the camshaft set accordingly. Worried about being a tooth or two off when putting the chain on.

Nate, how did you mount the holster? Is it a permanent or temporary? Would love to see a pic! Maybe start a thread on phone mounts! Sean

I'm thinking straight line from petcock to carb, and closing off the line to the fuel tank so it would be like it wasn't there. then rip out the canister. I figure that would be the best way, then it would be like the system never existed. Just wanted to verify if I was right.

hey guys, seen a few threads about removing this system. Mine was partially removed about a year ago when new head went on with no EGR valve. The canister and lines are still hooked up on the bike. Found my air hose from filter to carb is badly cracked. I have a replacement, but here's the problem. The bad hose has a nipple on it and a line hooked to the PAIR canister. The new hose doesn't have the nipple. Beside the line coming into the canister from the air hose, there is a line running to the fuel tank and one to a T connector to the petcock and carb. I know I can just remove the T and hook the petcock straight to the carb for vacuum, but what about the line to the tank? Can I just plug that off or should it connect elsewhere? I temporarily fixed the cracked hose with duct tape, but need to put the new one in soon. Thanks for all the help! Sean
