No, and I thought the same when I pulled it. I am only about 3 blocks from the ocean, so that may have something to do with it. I'm also somewhere around 15-16,000 miles and the bike is always outside.

And another. The one that is in there now is slightly smaller in size, but I think that is just the cooling fins on it. Attachments:

I want to say its a 4 pin, but I'll double check when I get home. The used one I plugged in was shaped a little different, but had the same connector.

Is there anything that knocks the voltage regulator out? Several weeks ago, my headlights got very dim, so I checked voltage at the bulb and was getting about 2V. I swapped a used regulator in and it worked fine or a few weeks, and now I'm back to dim lights. Battery is charging fine. Getting a we regulator tomorrow, just curious if there is something that could be frying it? Thanks in advance.

I ended up zip tying this morning. Came loose again, so just kinked it and tied it off!

I like that Jersey, and will do that if my current "solution?" doesn't hold up

Put about 20 miles on after pulling the screw, checked this morning and still tight. Ran about 15 and checked again and it was still fine, so I'm thinking something got in there and wouldn't let it get tight.

I guess I'll try it tomorrow. Have to tighten every 20 miles or so. I did pull he screw all the way out today and ran a little fuel out before replacing it. Hoping maybe something was in there blocking it from tightening all the way. I'll find out in the morning and follow up here!

Never had this before - the screw on the carb drain line keeps loosening. Can I put loctite on that with no problem? Or will the fuel eat it? It's gotten to where I tighten it everyday before leaving!

Bad battery?

Hey guys, had a no start this morning. Charged the battery for about 20 minutes and got it going. Stopped down the road a couple miles for a light and it cut off and wouldn't fire. Battery was completely drained! Pushed it home and charged again. Got an error on the charger. Checked the voltage and it showed 16v on the battery. Hooked it up, and got nothing but lights. Tried to jump solenoid and got very light spark, but wouldn't turn starter. Just wanted to check before I went and bought a new battery. Thanks

Thanks guys, I think I'm sending it to scrap. Some water inside. Was just thinking of doing it as a project. It's about the only thing left on the bike, and thought maybe it was worth a shot!
