By the time the Bando's are in stock, I'll have worn out my scooter and be shopping for a replacement! Yeah, if we were to just order a handful of belts we'd have them in no time, but due to our volume we tend to order entire production runs which changes the game dramatically. It's a give and take; this way we can offer a competitive price, but it takes a while to get product sometimes. This is why we work really really hard to make sure established product doesn't go out of stock. Matt

They did not know about an overseas version, but if there was an established demand from this market (beyond us, anyway), Gates USA is usually pretty good about having it here. They did say that they'd look into it for us however.
Lead times from Bando are usually 3-5 months. They make a great product, but are undoubtedly one of our slowest to ship vendors.

Well, here is an interesting little bit of information... I just called Gates to get this belt into our stock ASAP, and Gates USA doesn't offer a 918-22.5-30. At least this explains why we didn't have it.
The closest that Bando offers is a 918-22.3-28, which should work just fine. We'll order that on our next Bando order, but since their belts come from Japan, they take FOREVER to get here. Just a fair warning.

ScooterElements makes a good point here. Gates also has some newer red and white packaging that looks like this: www.partsforscooters.com/Belt_743-20-30_premium_GY6Just some additional food for thought. Every Gates belt that we get from Gates USA comes with a Gates specific belt sleeve. It's harder to tell with Bando, as they don't have packaging. Matt

Final update: I emailed Parts For Scooters who sold the generic belt and showed them the picture and within an hour they offered to refund me for the belt. I have been happy with the quick turnaround and service I've received from them, both in shipping my order, and in handling the issue I encountered. They seem to be a very good place to do business with. I was also told they plan to begin stocking Bando belts in the near future so that's some good news... We'll be looking at both Gates and Bando in that size. Honestly, I'm surprised that we didn't have a Gates in stock already, but sometimes details slip through the cracks. Anyway, I'm sorry that the belt you got failed, and I hope that in the future you'll continue to look our way for parts. Matt

You guys mean Wolf Brand They lost the rights to the Gorilla name after a legal battle and rebranded to Wolf Brand Scooters. They are still a ZNEN built scooter, and as far as quality, you can do a whole lot worse than ZNEN, that's for sure. Seminole is one of their better local dealers. Matt

I just ordered a set of replacement Dr. Pulley rollers (not sliders, just being moderately cheap here) along with a replacement drive belt from partsforscooters.com. (Edit: Wow! Just over an hour from time I ordered and already shipped with a tracking number!) I went with 26g weights, same as the factory since I was happy with performance already. I'll be putting it all back together once I get the parts... The variator had a lot of a VERY thick/sticky/nasty grease all around the outside rim; the grease was caked on and very difficult to clean off. With the new Dr Pulley rollers, should I use a dry lube (graphite or other) or would a more conventional grease be better. I have both graphite powder and white lithium grease available already... Dr. Pulley rollers and sliders are self lubricating. You install them dry for best performance. Have fun! Matt

It's kind of like a Givi. You mount a part to your luggage rack, and then it is a quick release setup from there. It doesn't actually interchange with a real Givi mount from what I understand though.

Chances are Maxxima is using a third party (oil supplier) to blend their oils, and therefore sometimes might get some discrepancies batch to batch. You'll see this quite often in lower priced oils or any oil company that doesn't control the blending process.
It's one of the reasons that we picked up Bel-Ray. They control and perform their production process end to end and each batch is always to spec.
As far as oils suppliers are concerned, you'd be amazed to find out how many oil brands are just a private label brand being produced by the same company.
Most likely through your oil is fine.

Sounds like dirty fuel delivery. You mention that you purchased it used, which is key here. How long did it sit with fuel in the system before you purchased it? If it sat for any amount of time, then chances are a thin film of varnish formed on the internals of the fuel system. In and of itself, this is normal, but what happens is that when you put a new tank of fuel in, the ethanol on the new fuel acts as a thinning agent and causes that varnish to strip off in chunks which will consequently clog up your system. I'd clean your carb and get some StarTron. StarTron has an enzyme that eats (literally) the varnish in your fuel system. This is how it treats the ethanol in your fuel, not by eliminating it, but by eliminating what actually typically gunks up your system. Here's a link: www.partsforscooters.com/Star-Tron-Fuel-Treatment_2Also, the electric choke on your carb may have failed. These are easy to test and replace. Just pop it off your carb (it's usually held on with one screw) and hook it up to a 12V power source. The element inside should expand out over the course of a few minutes, if it doesn't then your choke is faulty and a replacement might help. www.partsforscooters.com/164-260_electric_choke_assyI hope these ideas help. I had a Kymco Agility 125 a few years back... I just rode the thing. A lot. I know it's my job to get people to buy new parts, but that is one of those scooters that really does function well as a reliable stock ride. It's pretty quick for a 125 as its stands as well.
I know it isn't the information that you came here for, but I'd save the cash and just ride it stock.

I have said this many times and I'll say it once more. If you need a part right away always call and order or call before making your online order. Some people act as if these suppliers are making the parts themselves. They get these parts for over seas and sometimes it takes weeks to get parts for them. They have to deal with customs in top of that. If you think it's bad waiting for one part you should try waiting on a whole shipping container like they do. Just to add to this, as it is very correct; When ordering a shipping container from China, some factories can take up to 4 MONTHS + (particularly if Customs decides they want to have a look at your shipment) from the date of the order to get that container to our dock. Something to consider when you want to wrap your head around the logistics of what scooter parts suppliers do to make sure we have the parts you need when you need them. Matt
