Has anyone Tried this engine, or their jog 100 ? i am pretty darn interested in them!   Holy smokes! 100cc big bore/long stroke JOG minarelli 2stroke scooter engine for your long case applications. 12" tire and larger. This actually has a carburetor included! If so - I would like to know how well built is the engine? what speeds could i expect to see after break in ? What manufacturer builds/assembles these engines? Did everything work out of the box? If swapping from a 50cc or 70cc/80cc did you encounter clearance issues or require a new CDI or other replacement parts due to incompatibility? Overall would you say the engine was worth the asking price? would you Recommend me to buy one? also any other input is Welcomed  |

Only one's that can answer any of your questions is someone that has bought one of those motors. As for scrappy they can probably answer 1 of the questions all the other questions only from people that bought one.
So you may have to take on the project and report back the findings.

These have not been in production for quite some time now. We bought the last remaining inventory from the factory and sold out of them before they even arrived here. The JOG90 is on backorder right now also, and will likely be sold out before they arrived as there is a waiting list for them. 2strokes are being phased out by manufacturers because of more stringent emissions requirements and warranty issues as amateur 2stroke owners often burn them up. it's a niche market the factories or dealers are not will to chance when they can sell 4strokes instead.
I'd recommend building an engine with our aluminum BBK, chamber, carb, etc. Give Shelly a call or email

I'd recommend building an engine with our aluminum BBK, chamber, carb, etc. this was actually my original plan, plus performance clutch, roller weights, clutch / torque springs and an unrestricted CDI as well as a few other items! and i figured the jog 100 might be out due to the wording, how ever i did not expect a back order on the jog  suppose it makes sense though Cheaper to buy a jog 100/jog90 than to build up a performance 70cc/72c scoot i was considering a 100cc kit, the ones with the cam, larger variater, and longer stroke ect how ever i am hesitating because i've never done those installs and would have to do alot of surfing on how to's Was cool to see your response i certainly did not expect to get a response straight from the source! |
