I'm new on here and really need some help I bought a johnway 49cc scooter, because my other sunny scooter just got stolen 5 days ago....i have alwAys upgraded my scooters with a big bore kit... for that extra speed... now the johnway I just acquired has a 49cc motor in it plus it has all these vacuum hoses emission attatcments.. one on the exhaust.. which I sealed of and a bunch of other unneeded vacuum lines.. I installed the 100cc big bore piston..my question is do I haft to upgrade my valves too? I can't seem to get it to stArt up.. I have spark fuel and air it just won't turn over I'm thinking maybe the valves are too small... please any insight would be greAtly appreciated Yes you need

Check to make sure your starter relay is not sticking on But otherwise your starter is going to be the same temperature as your motor, hot. thanks, i have a import store for old bikes next to me,they also have scooter parts also but most are for 50cc, they do have a starter relay for qmb139 type of engine brand new and very cheap but mine is a 125cc engine, the starter relay looks same as mine. Now it will work if i replace it with that one?

Is it normal for a starter motor to be hot? I just install a new one on a chinese 125 and take the scoot for a ride about 15 min and when i come back the starter almost burn my fingers when i touch it, also it doesn't fix my starting problems..

I have a TaoTao ATM50-A1 carburetor based 50cc GY6 Chinese 4-stroke scooter, made in 2012, itself a clone of the wildly successful Japanese Honda Elite GY6 engine from the early 1980s, as everyone knows. The 139QMB engine isn't it? The problem is, it's really hard starting, and stalls out, especially in colder weather when it's nearly impossible to start. It usually stalls out the first 5 or 10 starts before it'll stay running, IF it stays running. This is really annoying because the electric start battery usually runs down before the scooter can get running and stay running. This forces you to kick start it 20 times in the hopes it'll start and stay running. The only adjustments on the carb are: 1. idle rpm throttle cable screw which supposedly controls the idle - 1/4 throttle, along with the idle jet's hole opening size. 2. carb needle: the vacuum-operated, rubber diaphragm-suspended, needle, with add-on rings which decide how far down into a metal hole air passageway it hangs and therefore how much air it blocks, this supposedly controls the 1/4 - 3/4 throttle mixture. 3. air/fuel ratio mixture screw which apparently controls the 3/4 - wide open throttle mixture, currently this is adjusted according the procedure in the taotao 50cc 49cc chinese scooter 139qmb engine service manual, basically it tells you to start it and run it rich at around 3000 rpm, and gradually close the screw (lean it out) until it gets to peak rpm, then give it a quarter or half turn richer, to stay safe. I've tested the usual things and ruled them out: 1. spark is reliable, 2. spark plug is new and decently clean enough, 3. there seems to be no air leaks around the rubber manifold because spraying starting fluid there makes no difference in the engine start behavior, 4. the vacuum operated petcock is good, 5. fuel supply is flowing and entering the carb OK, 6. new gas in the tank, 7. the original carb I removed and replaced with a new one of the same type with screw heads still there so on this new carb you can open it and clean it, unlike the original factory carb which had its screw heads cut off to prevent you from opening it and cleaning it. Anyway, I just want the thing to start up the first time and stay running, not fade and stall after 10 seconds, and no more instant stalling when I try to rev the engine past idle! Any suggestion on how to pinpoint the cause of the problem and fix it?? i do a valve adjust as the symptoms was the same in my scoot and the problem go away, you can do it yourself if you have the right tools, not so hard. Just replaced the starter an hour ago, and it starts up beautifully! So, if your scooter has started to be a tad bit harder and harder to start, taking more and more time to really turn over, and eventually just quits, check the starter. Mine was filled to the brim with oil. i will order one soon from ebay because mine it start having some hard starts

Hey, quick question. My scooter won't turn over. I've charged the battery up to full power, and when I go to turn it over, it won't turn over, It just "clicks" like the battery is dead (at one point, even tried to jump it with a sedan- still just a click). I researched and figured that it's either the starter or the solenoid that's having problems, and I'm pretty sure it's the starter, but I wanted to make sure. I've done the test where I touch both poles of the solenoid to a screwdriver, it sparks, but it still doesn't turn over. Is there anything else I should check before ordering a new starter? Thanks! -Kreider from my experience i think it's the starter

Here is what i use and what i use to put it in. The clear bottle is from a womens beauty store what they usually use to paint their hair with. Works perfect. I keep the scooter level and fill it up til the oil starts coming out of the fill hole. I also take advantage of getting a Prima Magnetic Oil Drain plug kit and installing magnetic plugs for the gear oil and engine oil plugs. Cool, i just put the oil inside with that clear bottle that you have i also fix it, altough mine was small and it was kind of a problem squeezing the oil in, but in the end i do it, i use 200ml from the 1L bottle from wich i think 80 i waste on the floor lol and 120ml in the box, i have a 125cc Qingqi 10-D that looks like your's cvt cover kinda, how much ml of oil you use in your gear box?

Hello there, i wonder what type of gear oil should i use on a 125cc chinese scooter and is it normal if you take the bolt in wich you fill up with oil the gear oil (not the drain bolt) and it starts to burst the gear oil out? ..maybe it was to much in the first place..? Ok i just go with 80W- because i find my scoot manual, Now My Real Question is: when i take the old oil out it was around 400 ml, but in the manual it says it's only 120 ml needed? I'm confused, tomorow i will buy from the store the oil since today i have no time

Well I "think" the longer intake tube helped it a bit. I put the 115 jet back in and it runs better but still is lacking at full throttle. Charging the battery now since it went dead from cranking the fuel back int he carb over and over. And I put the 128 jet back in to see if that changes anything.. Did I mention how PISSED I am for even doing all this?? Now when I am forced to buy a new muffler, ill have to tune this all over again... I was in your situation many times, try to make something better on my ex scooters and then mess it up, and spend more money to fix it back..Cheer up buddy

Didn't seem to be an airleak. I did a leak down test. I think my idle was too high. That seemed to help the problem About to say that
