This may sound stupid but how can you tell you transmision oil on your scoot is old, mine is green growing to brown

Just change it regardless if you know dont know if its old or new. I personally change my engine oil every month. and the gear oil every 3 months.

get a small oil pump can, don't know the name but has a trigger and small tube, makes getting the gear oil in that damn small filler hole quite easy.
