i would check on Craigslist and see if you can just find a parts scooter there for under $100. by the time you bought one and had it shipped you would have more into it. plus buying a local parts scooter you can strip it down for spare parts. I have one i stripped down and it has saved me a lot of money.

50,000 scooters in Indiana? That's seems to be a high number considering the weather there. I'm guessing only 15-20% of that.

I'm not sure on that model scooter but I bought a Chinese scoot last year that sat in a garage for a few years. The Cdi was bad and would only allow me to get up to about 17mph. As a said though I'm not familiar with the old Hondas much. I had a spree but didn't like working on it and sold it.

I've learn about covering a scooter. My paint went from a nice deep maroon to a pinkish pearl look. You have to lie the cheap painted Chinese plastics. The heat in Florida also caused my seat to dry out and come apart at the seam. You can definitely tell if a scooter has been garaged or not. I'll be buying a cover for mine after I give it a make over. I'll also cover any new scooter I buy. The sun and weather can and will destroy the looks.

Make it to nice and you'll be wanting to keep it. I like the carbon fiber wrap. Where did you get it?

I emailed the seller on eBay asking when he may have more in stock and posted for sale. He told me that he still has a few but I'm not sure if he was going to post them again or how you would go about buying something directly from the seller with it being posted. I would want it posted so I could use eBay and PayPal in case something wasn't right. I guess that's just the cautious side of me.

Id do a plug chop. Anytime you change air or fuel flow it's the thing to do. It may not need anything but it's better to just make sure.

Id send them a mail with pictures of what you're talking about to see is they have an answer. Also post pics here if you can so others can see. that particular listing has ended and I dont see any more listed on there so if you come across any more link me to them sir Save that listing and he will have more posted at some time. You can just search the seller name and it will show up. He has had the listing sell out a few times and then he will get more in stock at a later time.

I have to ask why lower a scooter. It is not a '57 Chevy, and only has 6" to 8" ground clearance on a good day. Take a usable machine and make it so it can't clear a speed bump or a large rock? What am I missing? Is there an attraction to lowered scoots.... I don't think so, but am usually wrong. the look. Thats the one and only thing im after here this bike will be ridden at car shows and similar events. I will also be stretching the bike in the near future. Like stated on the first post the bike isn't NOT a daily driver its a toy. Here is a pretty cheap stretch kit with fat tire. m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=160972609333

The people at the dealership said water in tank. This is a easy check also. It may not be the issue but it's good to know how to check it. Let the check cool down or do it before riding. Use a clear empty soda bottle and make sure it is completely dry on the inside. Pull the fuel line from the carb and place in the bottle. Start the scooter and run until you have a couple of inches of fuel in bottle. Pick up bottle and see if you see any seperation between fuel and water. Do not forget to replace fuel line. It's a simple 3 minute check.
