I don't play any attention to the Harley guys. If it's not a Harley they just laugh and walk away. You should see the laughs and finger pointing I get just riding my stock scooter around during bike week twice a year. Heck, half of the bikes that they bring down aren't worth looking at anyway.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll just do as stretch and BKK on the one I plan on keeping. May add some under body LEDs and Change out the stereo that I already have on it. Thanks guys.

I have been thinking about doing a summer build. I'm considering a build with a stretch and fat tire like this. I'm also considering something like the Sunkist and Green Meanie. itistheride.boards.net/index.cgi?board=cbs&action=display&thread=411itistheride.boards.net/index.cgi?board=cbs&action=display&thread=394I plan on keeping it until bike week in PCB this Oct. and then selling it so I can start a winter project. I will be keeping the 50cc motor but putting a 50mm BBK on it. My issue is that I'm not really wanting to lose money on the projects. If you built a scooter like the one in the video or the others what would you think they would sale for? I'm trying to get a estimated value. Remember unlike the others I will be using the 50cc motor with a BBK. Heck I would be happy to break even. lol.

But why spend $999 on a scooter when you can get the same one for $599. Most of the parts are coming from the same manufacture anyway. They will be used for about 5000 miles and sold. If it were a personal scooter I would say buy the Honda but it's not. If i was going to budget $999 per scooter I would buy the $599 and then but plugs, belts, rollers, cdi, coils, tires, gear oil, oil, Ect. Ect. Because if you are going to have a rental store you are going to want to be stocked up on all of that stuff anyway. It's a plan that most of the other scooter places are using because it works.

The Linhai Aeolus 50 is just another brand of scooter coming out of china. Most of the parts are coming from the same place as the other scooters. It has the same motor and body as the ones you can order for $599 and the same ones that all of the other scooter rental places are using. You would basically be paying double for the same scooter. They are renting the $599 scooter out until that get about 5000 miles and then selling them. That averages out to 150-220 rentals on that scooter. That $6000-$8800 you have made on one scooter that you paid $599 for. Now the good part, You get to sale that scooter for $350-$400 dollars when you are done with it. If someone wrecks a scooter and it's not usable its no big deal because now you just strip it and use it for parts. I could go on but you would get tired of reading. Just keep doing research.

They are nice scoots but you will have a hard time competing with the the other guys at those rates. I Live in PCB and scooters places here are going for 5 per hour and 40 per day. I imagine that that since it's only 30minutes away that the guys with the Chinese scooters are renting for the same thing in Destin. Since you're starting small you may be ok with the few that are willing to pay that day rate. As soon as possible I would add some Chinese scooters so that you can compete with the other guys. Get a dependable mechanic and you shouldn't have a lot of issues as far as that goes. I personally would have went with the Chinese scooters because of cost of scooters and parts. At 1900 for a base model Honda you could have bought 3 times as many Chinese scooter. Anyway good luck with your new business and let us know how it goes.

That's just crazy. What did they say the fair market value of your scooter was? Also, what kind do you ride?

Well I run out to taco bell today and had a few things with extra beans. On my way home I had air coming from my back side and picked up 13 mph. Had I been going downhill at the same time I may have wiped out. Oh and my scoot is stock. Well mostly..... I have fresh muffler bearings and blinker fluid.

I think i didnt realize i have a "moped" not a scooter...wonder why that cop didnt give me a ticket when i got hit? Correct. Florida does consider 50cc and under with pedals a moped. no need to for a tag.
