I have been thinking about doing a summer build. I'm considering a build with a stretch and fat tire like this. I'm also considering something like the Sunkist and Green Meanie. itistheride.boards.net/index.cgi?board=cbs&action=display&thread=411itistheride.boards.net/index.cgi?board=cbs&action=display&thread=394I plan on keeping it until bike week in PCB this Oct. and then selling it so I can start a winter project. I will be keeping the 50cc motor but putting a 50mm BBK on it. My issue is that I'm not really wanting to lose money on the projects. If you built a scooter like the one in the video or the others what would you think they would sale for? I'm trying to get a estimated value. Remember unlike the others I will be using the 50cc motor with a BBK. Heck I would be happy to break even. lol.

I think your custom jobs are good... I have no idea, on the value and time spent on these scoots, but I can say, too buy one already fixed up by China, well they go from anywhere from $1200 to $1500. I realize, a lot of time went into these, but it is like my scooter. Sure a fancier paint job, stickers, led lights make it look cool but still it is a $1700 scooter. It only pleases me. It shows off difference from other Bali 250's. I am not selling mine- it is my scooter. My personal touch to tell my scooter from others. I hope you get back the money and time you have invested in it. Attachments:

I don't know...but i don't think you'll get your money back on one of these projects, and making money is an even greater prospect. Counting your time you're in the hole.

Never expect to make money on a custom Chinese scooter.
For me I don't care for the custom stretched look. If you like it do it... The naked scooters are better but there's a reason the cover these things in plastic...

Hi Custom builds are a labor of love dont expect to be getting back what you have put into them dollar wise Most times you will lose money on the sale My cc bbk scoot has over a thousand in perfromance parts and many hours of time and labor in her and a good price for me to sell her at would only be in the 500 to 600 dollar range If your going to be doing any customizations you should plan on keeping her or taking a loss Take care and ride safely my friend Yours Hank

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll just do as stretch and BKK on the one I plan on keeping. May add some under body LEDs and Change out the stereo that I already have on it. Thanks guys.

Now my uncle built custom trikes from a 650cc Suzuki motorcycle. He brought them to bike shows and had a lot of people say," to bad it is not a Harley". Suggesting if it was a Harley, that people would want it more. It had custom paint, custom chrome, custom welding, ect.. But to bad it was not a Harley.. Attachments:

I don't play any attention to the Harley guys. If it's not a Harley they just laugh and walk away. You should see the laughs and finger pointing I get just riding my stock scooter around during bike week twice a year. Heck, half of the bikes that they bring down aren't worth looking at anyway.
