Had a Malossi variator installed by an independent shop who also did a valve adjustment. The intakes were tight so be sure to check them every 2000 miles or so. The variator change really helps getting the scooter off the line. It weighs 329 pounds and add your weight so it has its work cut out for it. The engine revs about the same at any given speed so all good. All and all it's a great scooter but I found a new Kymco gt300i for a good price so my Smax is on Cycletrader. If it doesn't sell that's okay

All I can find online is a Roketa MC-54 Cyprus. They say the engine is a Honda clone.$2099 GokartsUSA.com If I'm not mistaken. Have a look

I don't get hung up on displacement. The Burgman 200 abs will do mph. I owned a Kymco People gt300i but sold it as it was too heavy for stop and go city riding. Bought a Yamaha SMax 155. Great in town, back roads, and fast enough for short rides on 65 mph highways. The 125, 250, 350, 500 displacements used to be racing classes and production racing was based on street bikes available to the public.

Not sure how this thread turned into Italian scooters vs everything else. Too bad. Guess I'll quit watching

Wish my wife would ride my 50, but I understand she's concerned about the idiot car drivers on their cell phones. Hope you and your wife enjoy the feeling only 2 wheels afford.

Aftef riding motorcycles for 50 years, I moved to a small city downtown area. At age 67 after spine surgery with nerve damage to one leg, I decided to try a scooter. I owned a Vespa 2 stroke I bought for $50 way back. As I have a motorcycle endorsement, I could have bought any size. But I bought a Bintelli 50 for its low price, warranty support and was happy with it for as long as I didn't have a hill to go up. I also thought it was so slow I was impeding traffic and being a menace. Did a 80cc BBK which made it better. I had test ridden a Genuine Rough house 50 2 stoke but didn't want to spend the extra $1000 Anyhow Bintelli scooters are well made and they make 50 thru 150 models. But if you want a 50 and have $2000 you cannot beat the Rough house. If the dealer removes the exhaust restriction and the spacer in the variator it will outperform any four stroke. No oil changed or valve adjustments, just gas in the tank and synthetic injector oil. One liter every 800 miles. The 150 Chinese scooters were OK but the Buddy 170i was quicker and fuel injected. I bought a new leftover for a good price. Sold it and got a Yamaha Smax which is a great all rounder. I've learned a lot and have sold the scooters I felt weren't the best to some buyers who are enjoying them. I worked hard for 50 years and scooters are my only vice. Even my wife believes it's money well spent because if I'm happy, she's happy for me. yeah I'm lucky

Have had mine for a month and it is very versatile. I live in a downtown area it's nimble enough for the city. As it's not broken in, I haven't done a top speed run. I will be fast enough for 55 mph highways, but don't intend to try boring interstates. The front and rear disc brakes are very strong and progressive. Riding position a little cramped thanks to seat hump but it's not enough for me to have buyers remorse as a local auto upholstery shop can take care of that. The suspension is a little harsh at low speeds but should get better with mileage. The cvt engages a little slowly from a stop so I'll do some Dr. Pulley sliders 10.5 vs the stock 11g conventional rollers. I'm getting 70 mpg in stop and go short trips. The fuel injection is flawless. I paid $3800 on the road and it's worth more. Considered a PCX150 but the rear drum brake, less horsepower, and the front floor made me go for the Yamaha. Have to admit my Genuine R50 is more fun under 45 mph de restricted thanks to its chain saw screaming little engine. I love them both and recommend them highly.

I owned an Adly Bullseye 50. The Rough house is noticeably quicker. There are a lot more accessories and performance parts available for the RH50. Even though the engines are very similar. I sold the Adly to a guy last year and he's happy.

Picking up a Genuine Rough House 50. I really like 2 strokes for getting around in the city. No oil changes, no valves to adjust and de restricted they are quick little buggers

If you don't load the front tire, you are not in control of a bike. Safety over comfort IMO.

Keeping the S max but getting a 2t Rough house Monday with my refund check. No valves, de restricted 45 mph, fast enough in the city. For $200 I'll get a stage one kit with expansion chamber, new rollers, main jets, and contra spring. As for the S max I'll use full synthetic oil and forget valve adjustments.. Wish it had shims like my R3, no required adjustment for 16000 miles. My point is Yamaha knows better.

Just shelled out for a service manual to do my own valve adjustments. Anyhow it recommends you drain the coolant, remove the radiator and water pump as a start. Believe me I will remove the valve cover, get the engine on the compression stroke, watch the valve stems come up, check there's play in the rocker arms and valve stems, and if they are .005 intake and .010 inches, I won't check them again unless the bike gets hard to start. Will also use full syn Amsoil to minimize rocker arm wear and Chevron Techron fuel injection conditioner to keep the valve seats clean of carbon build up. Any owners who have figured a way to do it, let me know. iMO dealers are not doing a valve check at 600 mile service.

Read my share of testers and owners complaints regarding lack of leg room and seat humps that lock you in position. The manufacturers are not doing this to make us uncomfortable, rather they want to weight the front wheel for safe handling.

She didn't even consider other scooters, it was a Buddy or nothing. I'm sure she's on the Modern Buddy forum.
