Please, Please, Please, Take Kat's advice on riding gear. You make thousands of trips on the road but, road rash is permanent after only 1 mistake. A Popular Youtuber (M13) recently crashed on a scooter. It didn't look bad but, Two broken femurs and 5 fingers later he is still riding because----- He dressed for the slide not the ride. Get your protection on lockdown first. ( insert cliche here ) Then follow it.!!!! Didn't that blogger dude like fly over a rail then like off a cliff OE something? Pretty brutal what happened to his hand

Yeah, a lot of us with 150cc ChinaScoots have just taken the kickstart out. Seems almost impossible to get them working properly; not worth the effort. Just charge the battery and forget that thing they laughingly call a kick-STARTER. The only thing it will start is your blood pressure. NOTE: Be gentle when charging. The spec is for 2 amps charging current; I think 4 amps is fine with these glorified D-call batteries. But most car chargers have MUCH higher charging rates, and that will severely decrease the lifespan of the battery Do they really suck that much? I've only tried mine a few times and it was really easy to start, do they just fall apart after too much use? Its good enough for an emergency I guess Lol, maybe they designed it like snit expecting you to only use it once in a blue moon

But yeah, locks are essential, I have a chain, alarm disc lock and now thanks to you guys one more little deterrent however small. After watching YouTube voids of scooter thieves in China stealing them in seconds flat I got paranoid. Not to mention my town is full of bike thieves.

Haha, I guess. I just ride it and don't worry about the dealer considering theres none within a reasonable distance. Anything I need I'll find out here, even random little things like this. If I was riding something complex and expensive like a ducati I'd surely worry about a good dealership as it would be pretty essential, but since there's nothing around me I make do. Actually my favorite part about these scooters is that there's no need for an expert mechanic at the dealership, just the great help and knowledge on these forums.

This key lock has a built in cover feature too. The little tab that sticks out on the right can be flipped up and a cover blocks off the key hole. The hex with a notch in it, at the 6 o'clock, position releases the block. The hex key is molded into the key handle. So the key is actually two keys in one. Interesting, as you can see, mine's similar, but it uses the hex key for both opening and closing. Whoa! I just realized my ssr x6 has that same lock cover thing! Awesome haha I had no idea why my key had that thing on the back till now

Well as I took my perf exhaust off the mess with it today I noticed my center stand had been rubbing on the header and put a nice gouge in it! Its a damn good thing I noticed it probably would've went straight on through before too long. I just took off my stand. Im bummed I had to take it off tho, my side stand is sturdy enough but I like the center stand for working on it and for checking the oil accurately grrrr. Anyone else had to deal with this and have any good solutions?

Where the throttle cable attaches right above that is a screw which can speed up or slow down your idle. Along on the side there is am air fuel mixture screw. Google gy6 carb diagram and itll show what is what. You may just need to turn the idle speed screw in a bit. There's some fairly detailed directions on how to properly tune the air fuel mixture you could Google...I'll try and find a link for you

The thing about most warranties is that a shop must do the work and labor cost isn't covered, I Dino what bintellis is like but I'd read the fine print. Better have a dealer close. If you are short on money the best option is to commit yourself to learning how to work on your bike. Toons of good help in these boards. There's no dealers around me so I ordered one online and love it, can do all the basic maintenance. I'd be kinda intimidated by actually rebuilding my engine but with all the help from this forum and some care I'm positive anything on these fairly simple gy6s is doable. Its nice to know at the worst case scenario I can just spend a little over 300 bucks and swap in a brand new engine. These little China scoots are a godsend as I can't afford to keep up with my car and gas. Plus its a new hobby for me working on it. Bintelli would be a good choice, good quality, good dealer, and toooons of stock and performance parts available. I think you'll be really happy with it.

Id open up and check the carb first...no point in getting a new one if you dont need it. probably cleaning it would do, other than the diaphragm and auto choke theres very little that can actually break. Also if the a/f screw is plugged upits like a 30 second job to get it off if you have a power drill. It wouldnt hurt to have a new one and a spare old one, but your old carb probably just needs to be cleaned

Well, after running around town all day trying to find a suitable rubber hose I finally set up my uni. Used 1 5\8 rubber hose, and a degree copper elbow and it worked perfectly. Tried a 120 jet and it was ok, then tried a 130 and it was boggy, so I threw in a 125 and it seems just right. I have the uni going to a stock carb, and a larger diameter header and free flow pipe. finally its set up how I want so I can stop tweaking on it and just ride....for now haha I have a feeling this scoot will be a neverending project for me
