I agree with spandi if your going over 250 cc just buy a motorcycle. you get the larger wheel diameter for stability and a real transmission.if you like scooters ride a scooter.if not buy a motorcycle.later

Hi sirnotterwhal, this may help or may not, but my scoot had some of the same problems I chased the problem for two days.it would start and ideal just fine but once you gave it throttle it would die. ended up being loose terminals on the wires connecting the coil, just pinched them with a pair of pliers problem solved . I think as the motor revved up it would hit just the right vibration point and causes the connection to fail. anyway you may want to check this. just one more thing to check off your list.good luck and don't give up,you'll find it.later

Hi I'm pretty sure Handsome is right,I've used Kremm before in motorcycle tanks and yes it looks just like your photos .one problem I did encounter was using racing fuel in a tank I had Kremmed. some high octane fuels will destroy the Kreem coating .but you never want to use racing fuel in one of these small engines anyway. I would think using a paper type fuel filter would be a very good idea.and just to be safe buy the glass type so you can keep a eye on any problems. Oh,one thing more make sure all the outlets are clear i.e.vent,supply,e.t.c. it's easy to stop up the outlet when you use Kremm because it is a coating that is poured in to the tank if the person that did this to the tank wasn't aware of this he or she may have plug up the outlets. It's easy to check just blow compressed air throw the outlet.hope this helps.later

Hi fototakersf I don't know if you fixed your scooter yet or not, but I'm willing to take a look, I'm in the bay area and I'm a retired motorcycle mechanic, and I ride a scooter now. I've worked on my own scooter and friends scooter as well ,I has lots of tools, the only thing is I'm in the east bay (San Lorenzo)if you can transport your scooter here I'll take a look.but I won't travel to S.F. I like to work in my shop with my tools.so if you still need help, I'm here, let me know. later

Hi, that hose that goes to the top of your fuel tank is the vent hose, and yes you need it.if you block it off you'll create a vacuum in the fuel tank and stop fuel from reaching the carb .I just leave about 6 or 8"of the hose from the top of the tank and put a used fuel filter on the end of it, to keep out any dirt or dust from being sucked in to the fuel tank. and then tuck it up out of the way. just be sure the filter is not blocked up.and your good to go.hope this helps.

Hi everyone, just had a problem with my cdi,I did find the problem but thought this might help some one in the future ,my scooter was running good but every now and then it would start miss firing, but all I would do is give it a little more throttle and it would start running fine again.this was very frustrating as it wouldn't do it for days at a time. I started trying to hunt down the gremlin, first the carb. then the spark plug, spark plug wire, the coil.now here's where I f#%*up, the next part to check you would think would be the cdi but no!!!!!!!!!!!! I was under the impression (or maybe i heard somewhere)that cdi's either work or don't work, no in between.well I can tell you now that isn't true. I was lucky and had a spare cdi plug'ed it in and after hours of work walla she's running just fine.so I learned my lesson when your trouble shooting don't assume, change the part dummy (the dummy being me) a 5 min.job turned into hours. chasing the gremlin.hope this will help someone in the future.later

Hi, I've had the same battery for 2 years with no problems. and the stater is the same one that come with the scooter. I do ride my scooter pretty much every day, so the battery stays charged, I have about 8000 miles on the scooter now. so I've found the starting system is pretty good. if you don't ride that often you may want to invest in a trickle charger. you can find them at Harbor Fright for as low as 8. , just hook it up when the scooter is going to be stored for the winter, or not being ridden for a long time.by the way I've never had to use the kick starter. (knock on wood)I've found their pretty much just for looks on most Chinese scooters.so try the electric starter you may like it.later

does the squeek happen when you move the scooter back and forth or bonce it up or down, with the engine off or running? if so you may want to check the brake calipers (if you have dics.brakes) if the pads aren't releasing the rotor it will drag and make a squeeking sound, a little lube on the mounting studs will help.just make sure you don't get any lube on the pads. I had this problem and it drove me mad till I discovered it .so I can under stand your frustration.good luck.

I just finished installing a new instrument cluster with a tack.my scooter didn't come with one from the factory so I haven't really had time to see the rpms. at the top end. I've been more focust on the roller wear than any thing else.but when I get time I'll check it out and let you know. ?tion doesn't the wht. of the rollers determine the top end speed with heaver rollers making it faster off the line but lowering the top end?or do I have it backwards that lighter rollers determine the top end? just want to be going in the right direction what I want is fast take off.I'm not so concerned with high top end as I do most of my riding between 25 and 40 mph. later
