That was so...............cool can you tell me where it was?, me and my good friend Alex go to track days as much as we can, he rides a large 1000cc Kaw. I'm kind of the pit crew/mechanic ( I'm a retired Harley mechanic. What do I know about Kaws ha ha. I do what I can) ?, we use my scooter as a pit bike .we always kid about wouldn't it be fun if the track would let the pit bikes do a couple of lapses on the track .you'd be suprised how many scooters are used as pit bikes. I love it ,not to brag but .(Ok I'am bragging) my scooter is always a hit. most pit bikes are just that, (the pits), a way to get around the pits, so you don't have to walk .and most people are suprised as how cool a scooter can look if you give it a little TLC. (and some custom details) last weekend we were at Sonoma Raceway near Napa Ca. and I can't tell you how many times we were stopped around the pits ,just to take a picture of the scooter, it was so cool ,I'm so proud of Putter that's what I call my scooter Putter the Scooter. I can't tell you how much I look foreword to the next track day (that will be Laguna Seca Raceway) anyway I thought the race video was so cool and I hope some day the guys at the race track will let the pit bikes have a go at the track.(and if it happens,)I know Putter will represent the scooter forum( very well) and as the video show's scooters CAN KICK AS*** later my friends . p.s. maybe I should explain track days for some of you that don't know what it is. track days is when a race track rents out it's track for a day or two to the public so anyone can run there motorcycles on the track.most track days are governed by some kind of organization, in are case it's PTT Pacific Track Time. hope that explains.

Hey chopperguy , I too put red stripes on my mag wheels, here's a little tip you may like use 3m pin stripping tape it works great and really stays on I've had mine on for 2 years now and if you want to change it just pull it off and start again. you can find it at most auto parts stores for less than 7.00 dollars. check it out. p.s. thanks for the bone.later

Hi everyone, just thought I'd throw in my two cents . I don't know if anyone mentioned this or not, and I don't know the laws in VA.but in my state all radar guns must be calibrated every 30 days and the police department must keep records of this. if the radar gun the officer used has not been calibrated you can have the speeding ticket thrown out of court. this may help you with the speeding part of your problem.another thing you can do is find a speedometer repair shop and have them test your speedometer for accuracy. now this may or may not help your defense depending on which way the speedometer is wrong .fast or slow (hope you get what I mean) this to maybe grounds for having the ticket thrown out. as you didn't know your speedometer this wrong at the time, if you do this make sure you bring proof to court . as I said I don't know the laws in VA. but I would look in to it. this has worked for me in the past. as for the other tickets I would take the advice of others, like getting insurance, showing the court you do have a licence , and so on. good luck I hope you can beat it or at lease beat some of it. it sounds like the officer kind of had it out for you.again good luck. later

I get it the 50cc can be fun. I too kind of get a kick out of planing my routes even with a 150 cc avoiding the freeways ect. (and believe that's not easy in calf.) but I've got one ? if for some reason you lost the Vespa would you just ride the 50 and be happy with that or would you be out looking for another Vespa or 150 plus scooter to replace the Vespa. my guess is you would replace it as soon as you could. as the old saying goes it's hard be beat cu.inches (or in this case cc's lol) later.

Thanks everyone for the advance I'll pull the starter out first and check it out before I order a new starter clutch. now that you've made me think about the sound I hear could very well be the starter bearing going bad. thanks again. later

Hi, all you scooter fans, got a simple ? I'm pretty sure my starter clutch is going bad,it still works, but now and then it makes a strange noise. so I think I'm going to replace it be for it leaves me stranded some place. I've got all the correct tools to do the job. just one ? is the hut that holes the gear on a left handed tread or right hand tread ? I haven't tore in to it yet but would just like to know before I do. all the videos I've looked at seem to show left handed treads but no one stats that it is. a conformation would be really helpful. OH,ya this is on a 150cc 1 57qmj motor . thanks in advance for the info. later

good point guys, i didn't think about the license part of the deal (my state also requires them) but I still think the 150 plus scooters are the way to go.now that's just my opinion .and as the old saying goes, like a** h**** everyone has one. for me if a newbe ask's I'll still try to steer them to the 150 plus scooters.thanks for your opinions, in the long run we all benefit . later

Hi all, is it just me or is it just that 50cc scooters are a pain in the a** most problems on this web site seems to deal with 50cc scooters, now i'm not pointing fingers ,but it seems that they are not the best decision when it comes to picking a reliable foam of transportation. and I may be wrong about this as well, but isn't that the reason, we buy them in the first place.( maybe not all), but most of the new comers do .why? because there cheap! and as the old saying goes you get what you pay fore.also being a old school guy," forgive me", aren't most of them 2 strokes, maybe I'm wrong about this( please let me know if I'm wrong) .and as we all know 2 strokes are bad for the environment . I guess what I'm trying to say is if some one asks you what you would buy as far as a scooters goes. try steering them to a 150cc plus 4 stroke scooter, now I know the 150 cc scooters are not the best, but I think there far better than the 50cc scooter on the market today. and there maybe other reasons for picking a 150cc plus scooter .I know being a motorcycle mechanic you can get more hp.from a 2 stroke than a 4 stroke for less money.but the average scooter rider doesn't care about that. I think as seasoned scooter riders as well as owners it is our duty to inform the new guys and gals that cost is not the only thing to consider. a 150cc plus scooter can keep up with traffic on most roads most 150's are ac systems so your lights work without the motor running a good thing if you brake down on the side of a road. and you want to be seen by oncoming traffic, just a safety concern . well I know the 2 stroke guys are probabley going to say I'm way off my rocker (so be it) but that doesn't change the point 50cc is not your only choose please con setter a 150cc plus 4 stroke scooter it maybe a little more money but in the long run it maybe a good thing (hey 150cc bring more money on the resale. later
