I figure I may have a chance because the leverage will push on the cover then hopefully push on the bad hole upwards and to the side where it isnt cracked...it cracked on the left side, and bottom only. The inner sleeve cracked a bit too so I filled the cracks and glued the sleeve in as well since the kick start lever part slides freely in the sleeve. Tonight will be the moment of truth....I may just have to accept my kickstart is kaput and save up for one of those sweet open covers

It may work one or 2 more starts for you. There is a lot of torque that goes into that area.
I got one of those advanced angle CDI's, and broke my CVT cover in half because of the kickback from the advanced timing.
Oh well. Cars don't have kick-starts. I just installed a spare battery that I can switch to with a toggle switch. I put one of those little 5lb batteries in the vast area between the valve cover, and the bottom of the seat. I switch to it while I'm riding every now and then to keep it charged, and that is my "kick start".

Lol I was just gina delete the post...I tried to fit the gear but now it wont align perfectly and all the finagling to try n make it work was making the epoxy weaker. I just gave up. Im super pissed at myself...it was a part that made it that much more reliable for me. My stock battery hasnt failed me though and ive used it every day and have 1300 miles. I wonder how long this battery will last. And hows the reliability of the starter motor itself do those burn out after a while?

Hi, I've had the same battery for 2 years with no problems. and the stater is the same one that come with the scooter. I do ride my scooter pretty much every day, so the battery stays charged, I have about 8000 miles on the scooter now. so I've found the starting system is pretty good. if you don't ride that often you may want to invest in a trickle charger. you can find them at Harbor Fright for as low as 8. , just hook it up when the scooter is going to be stored for the winter, or not being ridden for a long time.by the way I've never had to use the kick starter. (knock on wood)I've found their pretty much just for looks on most Chinese scooters.so try the electric starter you may like it.later

The starters will last a long time. They are just a magnet case, with a wire coil inside of it. Not much to go wrong.

You can't repair the CVT / kickstart case. It is too weak to repair. I've had that problem a few times, tried JB weld but would break again anyways. Get a new case, I've found them on ebay for around $30 before.

I don't really have the experience or confidence to take the entire motor apart i better just hope my electrical and starter system doesn't get any gremlins soon. I depend on my scooter which is why I'm so mad about the whole thing. After all the stuff I've done to make my scoot just the way I want and more reliable...I go and break my backup starting system in a thoughtless second
