I will look for the link but I had found a radio with rechargeable battery that did not tie into the scooters battery nor need a 2nd battery . It also has 4 gig of storage for mp3s

Cheap tires that are unbalanced can shimmy . I bought a TaoTao with a front tire so bad I did not get a 1/4 mile from the lot before I took it back to have it replaced . I had the tires balanced on my Echarm and it was so much smoother . Even smoother when I replaced the stock crappy tires with some Skinkos .
A worn belt as well as worn pullies can vibrate . Nuts and bolts get loose from riding so make sure all are snug on the forks , triple tree , head stem etc . I replaced the stock belts on both of my scooters with Kevlar Bandos and I noticed they both had a surging vibration that both did not have prior to replacing the belt .

First do you have a tach ? How many miles on it ? Have you done any mods to it ? Does your pipe have an expansion chamber ? The 4Ts have a 2+4 plug CDI where many 2Ts have a 5 pin CDI . My 2T was stock other than I replaced the 68 main jet with a 75 MJ and the stock NGK replaced with a NGK iridium plug . It would top out at 8k RPMs and fizzle if I hit 9k downhill . I replaced the CDI with one like this but blue www.partsforscooters.com/50cc_Minarelli_cdi_169-117?sc=34&category=132416#tab1 2 wires are on a plug , one was female and the other two were male . The first 3 were a nobrainer but the other two were colored diff . I mated up solid with solid and stripe with stripe and it worked . The CDI did not have a mount hole so I used a zip tie . I had the same 8k RPM limit . My dealer said try lighter rollers . I pulled them out and weighted them which was 6g . I tried 4g but was too light , lost top end same 8k limit . I mixed them to equal 5g and left it at that . When I removed the 49cc engine to put on a 47mm BBK or 70cc engine I noticed the 49cc exhaust port was not fully bored out as it was a D shape where the BBK was full circle . I think the port limited the max RPM as many stock pipes only go up to 8.5k RPMs . I also put on a racing pipe , Uni airfilter and larger main jet and now it hits 10,500 RPMs

There is AC to LC kits where you replace the fan with a water pump but not so easy to find a place to mount a radiator

I have read where Ebay and other sources can have fake Gates or Bando belts . Yes there is a diff in a brand name belt and a generic belt . If your eating up belts then you may have a bad variator or clutch . I have read where some have said the Kevlar belts can eat up a stock variator . I replaced the belts on both of my scooters with Kevlar Bando belts since they are made in Japan instead of China like the Gates are . I did notice both had vibrations where the stock belts did not . The belt on my Echarm it smoothed out after a few thousand miles . I only ride my 2T around as my toy since it is so loud and guzzles up gas . Here is a good place to get belts and more www.partsforscooters.com/Street-Scooters-Belts and another place www.scrappydogscooters.com/ If you have the cash for the Italian goodies ( way more money ) let me know and I will point you in the right direction . I ran a 95MJ with my 50mm BBK but I left the NGK iridium gap as it came since they come pregapped and unsure what it was

I had a TaoTao with 10x3.5 tires and man it was so sketchy at top speed . I bought an Echarm with 16s which is like a crossover between a scooter and a motorcycle type of ride as to me a scooter should have doughnuts ( fat tires ) . It was very much more stable but to me the tires are not wide enough . I bought another scooter a Jonway Magnum with 13s and wow I love how it rides . It has a street knobby tread pattern so there is a slight knobby bounce that reminds me of the old school mini bikes . The 16s are 100mm F and 110mm R , where the 13s are both 130mm . It is amazing how much more stable the ride is while going over uneven road patches and cracks that made the other 2 scooters wobble . Even strong winds from the sides do not phase it . I feel so safe that I have ridden in turns and straights with no hands and not be nervous . The other two if I took off a hand like to adjust my face shield or give a one finger salute it would shimmy . The Echarm would do this so bad it was skeery ( yes its slang ) with the stock tires but only a 3rd with Shinko tires . I have saw a few scooters that had 12s have the front replaced with a 10 . It looked funny to me but a buddy used his junk parts since he did not have the cash for a new 12 tire . Here is a visual calculator to compare two diff tire sizes side by side www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tirecalc.php . I was used to pedal mopeds with 17s , MX and streetbikes with tall tires , so my very first scooter I rode ( which was my scooter I bought later ) the shorter rims and wheelbase felt weird as it was so nimble compared to what I was used to . The longcase scooters also have more leg room which is great if your tall like me at 6ft 4

My Echarm has a tube like that but it is plugged off . The plug has a clip to hold it on and I can remove it when I get some oil in it . It only does this if I redline it for a bit but only a sip . The oil is loaded with bubbles and I catch it with a shop rag as it does not look reusable . I then pour in a sip of oil in the crank case to keep it full .

I do not know Cali laws but the Aprilia SR 50 has a model with EFI that meets restrictions where the carb types do not . So you may be limited to only an EFI model for a new scooter but may get to use the grandfather clause if you find a vintage 2T Vespa

Modded they could hit 70 MPH sure . I would love to see Top Gear to a 49cc challenge to see how fast they could get a 49cc without using a BBK
