Doe's anybody know the location of the cdi on a yamati eurostrada rx8. I can't seem to find it. The scooter is like a keeway fact50 or matrix. 50cc 2stroke of course.

Found cdi tonight, doesn't look anything like the one in the Chinese repair manual. Do these things really have an rpm limiter in them ? I've never noticed. Has anybody had to change their cdi to a performance one with no rpm limiter?

First not all 50ccs come restricted and the ones that do here are some places they MAY put a restrictor on all to limit the speed of the scoot: 1. Washer between the Variator Plates 2. Smaller Pipe inside the Header pipe right where it connects to the motor 3. A piece screwed under the cover of the Diaphgram to limit the rise of the Needle. This does not apply to a SLIDER type carb which you will find on most 2 stroke motors. 4. A restricted CDI, usually you will find a wire LOOPed coming out from the CDI and BACK into the CDI 5. A Crank rotation Sensor, here you will find wires going down into your CVT hooked up to a sensor. 6. Smaller Main jet 7. Heavy roller weights Alleyoop

First do you have a tach ? How many miles on it ? Have you done any mods to it ? Does your pipe have an expansion chamber ? The 4Ts have a 2+4 plug CDI where many 2Ts have a 5 pin CDI . My 2T was stock other than I replaced the 68 main jet with a 75 MJ and the stock NGK replaced with a NGK iridium plug . It would top out at 8k RPMs and fizzle if I hit 9k downhill . I replaced the CDI with one like this but blue www.partsforscooters.com/50cc_Minarelli_cdi_169-117?sc=34&category=132416#tab1 2 wires are on a plug , one was female and the other two were male . The first 3 were a nobrainer but the other two were colored diff . I mated up solid with solid and stripe with stripe and it worked . The CDI did not have a mount hole so I used a zip tie . I had the same 8k RPM limit . My dealer said try lighter rollers . I pulled them out and weighted them which was 6g . I tried 4g but was too light , lost top end same 8k limit . I mixed them to equal 5g and left it at that . When I removed the 49cc engine to put on a 47mm BBK or 70cc engine I noticed the 49cc exhaust port was not fully bored out as it was a D shape where the BBK was full circle . I think the port limited the max RPM as many stock pipes only go up to 8.5k RPMs . I also put on a racing pipe , Uni airfilter and larger main jet and now it hits 10,500 RPMs

No Tach. Scooter has 1800 miles. Mods are went from #68 to # main jet and open element cone style air filter. No name expansion chamber like the one on scrappy dog site under two stroke perf. section. The pipe doe's seem to work well for a no name pipe. Also changed rollers from 4 gram to 4.5 gram which seemed to work best. And 2000 rpm clutch and torque spring.
