[replyingto=reynoldston]reynoldston[/replyingto]Nope I was on a straight away. It all happened so fast, I really don't know how it happened. I'm guessing that one or both tires locked, I'm thinking most probably the front, since it seemed to drop out from under me, not slide out.

Unfortunately, the 2005 Reflex Sport doen't have anti-lock brakes like the non-sport model has. I hit the brakes hard at 40-50, I guess the wheels locked, and I was down and sliding in a heart beat. Of course, I was just running up to the store for a minute, and was wearing shorts and a short sleeve shirt. I got lots of road rash and a sprained shoulder. It's been almost 10 weeks and I'm still healing. At least I can ride again. The scoot fared better than I did. It got some pretty hefty scratches, and the front winker got messed-up. I had some filler and spray touch-up paint I used to fix the damage the guy that owned it before me did. You'd have to look close to tell anything happened to it. I was following a couple of cars, and I think I was in the wrong position on the road, and didnt see the car ahead of the one I was folling had stopped to turn left. When the car I was following pulled into the right turn lane to pass the turning car, I was faced witha stopped car and hit the brakes, probably harder than I needed to. Down I went. Lesson learned, the hard way.

I've got a Reflex and it obstructs the rear lights on my GMC pickup. So, I modified some trailer lights and bungee them to the carrier. I tried some velcro, but, it would not hold.

In Florida hospitals, you know what they call motorcycle riders who don't wear helmets? .... DONORS.

Service manuals? Ha, Ha, Ha, LOL. Could you imagine what it'd be like trying to read a Chinese service manual. Sorry to our Chinese friends, but, some of the written instructions and manuals for Chinese products are legendary.

If you take the muffler off, you should use a new crush manifold gasket. If you don't and it leaks, you could burn your exhaust valve.

I bought a used Honda Reflex and I'm having trouble wiping the smile off my face. What a great bike. It's a silver 2005, and only had 1.400 miles on it.

Put it away for the summer. It's in our winter home in Florida.

It may not be a Harley, but, let me tell you, I'm 69 and when wintering down in Florida, I watch the old guys trying to get their legs over their Harleys, and just laugh. My Reflex is comfortable and easy to mount and dismount.

When I bought my Honda Reflex, the guy who owned it before me dropped it and scratched-up the side pretty badly. I got some spray paint from an auto paint shop, without hardener, that matches the color (silver) exactly, but I apparently did not prepare the surface properly and you could still see the impression of the scratches. Then I dropped it when getting it off the carrier on the bac ???k of my truck and scratched the same area. Does anyone have some pointers on what I need to do to make the repair look decent., without resorting to having it professional done.
Thanks.

I too have a TaoTao, and also a Honda Reflex. I have almost 5,000 miles on the TaoTao with only minor problems, usual stuff dead battery, voltage regulator, and some fuel issues, but, mostly, it's been very reliable. But, I paid $2,000 for the 2005 Honda and only $700 for the 2010 TaoTao. If I was just riding around town at 45 mph or less, I'd probably have stuck with the TaoTao. In my opinion, it was a good first scooter.

My TaoTao is hard to get onto the center stand because someone sat on the scooter with the center stand down and bent the stand. Have someone else who has a scooter try it and see if it's an issue with the scooter or your ability.

I bought a used 2005 Honda Reflex 250cc and have put over 1,000 miles on it and have never had the plastic off of it.
