We adjusted the idle screw all the way in and then back out two full turns. The Scooter sounded a lot better and sounded stronger and wanted to start but still did not start. I will try twisting the throttle

We have tried starting it with the air filter on and we have taken the air filter off to see if it will start. Both times it would not start but playing with the adjustment screw seemed to help it want to start. We got it to a point where it almost started by playing with the adjustment screw but still cannot start.
Spark plug does have some gas on it

Hey guys,
I have a friend who's 1986 Honda elite 50 will not start. We have checked for spark, spark plug is very good and producing a blue flame. We have thoroughly cleaned the carburetor and adjusted the idle air mixture. The Scooter has over 5000 miles and has been ridden very hard. The Scooter cranks but will not catch or start. Kickstart will not work either. Put in a new battery as well. Could this indicate low compression caused by Old piston rings? We have a 63cc top end rebuild kit. Will installing this be our solution?
It is probably low compression by old piston rings? What do you guys think?

Okay, thanks I'll try that. When I turn the ignition on, I see a oil level low light come on. This is a two stroke, and could low oil cause the Scooter not to start?

I have a Genuine buddy 50cc scooter that will not start after sitting all winter. I have clean the carburetor, replace the fuel filter, clean the spark plug, and even got a new battery. It's still will not start. It will crank but will not catch.
I've checked that the battery terminals are connected.
What could possibly be wrong?

Hi guys,
I have a Buddy 50 I purchased new clutch spring and rollers. Does anyone know how to install the new clutch spring? I read about the clutch spring and rollers, they were recommended for "torque off the line"...it is a 50 I realize... Do you think this will hinder resale value? I'm looking to upgrade.

Interesting. How exactly do you grease the clutch shaft?

Hi everyone, I have a Suzuki Burgman 400 2004. I plan to replace the CVT belt and variator roller weights. So far, I am looking at the Malossi 18g and 21g roller weights from Scooterwest.com. My riding is 65% in town and 35% on freeways. Which one would be better for reliability and MPG? Thanks

Yeah, I guess I'll just stick with fresh gas then

I use Chevron techron and Pro guard fuel injector cleaner to clean the injector to prevent any gunk That could possibly build up.
maybe I shouldn't put it in my bike then? It seems to run just fine though. Then again, I don't want to screw up anything

Hey guys, recently I discovered that I have some old gas and some gas cans of mine. They have been sitting for over eight months. But my scooter is fuel injected and I know fuel injected scooters are more resistant to old gasoline then carbureted scooters. I put some fuel additive in the old gas and added it to my Bergman. It rode just fine. some cars that have had gas sitting for seven years and starts just fine
My question Is it safe to use old gas? I'm trying to save some money on fuel. I put seafoam and fuel additives to clean the system as preventative maintenance. It seems to have no problems at all.
If my scooter was carburator based, I wouldn't think of putting old gas in there , but since it's fuel injected, it seems like it doesent really hurt it.
What do you guys think?

Hey guys, I'm trying to clean the carburetor on a 1986 Honda elite 150. The problem is, I can't figure out how to get to the carburetor.
I also need to replace the gas tank. Does anyone know how to do these two things?
Thanks
PS I've read the manual but it's all black-and-white and I cannot figure out where everything is

I have the right side of the motor area tore down, so I could and did check the starter. It works. I rotated the motor by spinning the big nut on the side counter clockwise. Then tried to start it. It will try to start and then backfire. Valve issue? Will try to check for fuel also.
Oh, there seems to be fire to the plug.
