Been there, guys. If you give a sh** about anything at all: It can be your darkest he** (the crying and gnashing of teeth kind = torment). If there is nothing left for you on this earth or you have forsaken all for whatever reason: It will be a country-club. Regardless: I think scooter thieves should be shot on site (same as horse-thieves back in da day). Period. Stay away from captain howdy....lol

If you need any cables built when you do your upgrade, give me a shout. Around $10-25 per cable/harness... depends upon how many feet of cable and the amount of plugs/terminals used. If one just wants to test the petcock: Bypass it for a minute and see what happens. Edit: The only vacuum I have is to the petcock. Not needed if using gravity. Your particular set-up may vary.... Edit: Valve adjustment is always good.

Agreed: Something's got ya jammed-up. Remove as much as possible in the CVT area (where the belt was changed out). Variator > (check for misplaced or misaligned rollers and/or glide-keys (the little V-Shaped plastic pieces that guide the variator action [normally three of them]) Clutch > As stated in previous post re: ramblinman Also check around the starter clutch (what spins the engine when using electric start) for debris
Edit: Are we sure it was the correct replacement belt?

Jerry, maybe mopojo can rig something for you. I do understand risk assessment: Sometimes we act from the gut. Is any more effective than the other? I mean: Other than hypothetical statistics? I feel that the way we choose to live our lives dictates that we think about self-preservation only (we have our own agendas). I have a "god"-given right to breath unpolluted air. Why must I breath exhaust infested air? Wonder where risk assessment fit into this scheme of things? Exactly why I need to find the source of my smokin' moped. I am one that will stop the world (as it were) to let that ladybug live a few more seconds. The rest of you can fend for yourselves. Oh: Don't interfere with my zen. Thanks

My bikes stopped disappearing after I kept em locked up. As an Ironworker/welder and explosives consultant I know the weakness of steel and other alloys. Leave it unlocked so I can carry it away on my shoulder. Makes it easy as pie.... Had a bank get robbed next door yesterday. Dude got away. Police stations on opposite corners. Cops everywhere. lol Security.... BAH! Keep an eye (when possible) and chains (always) on mine. Man I would be so pi**ed if something was to happen to my bike.... If I see it I'm shootin'. Period. Tired of that sh**. Thanks, scooters.

I do not think anything will prevent a determined (or cracked-out) rogue. All we can do is try. This works for me.... True story; been told before: I asked my bud why he had a chain but did not use it. He said nothing ever happens around his place. Two nights later he calls and says he caught some punk kid walking off with it (no resistance). The kid say his brother told him to get it. He keeps it locked now.
So;just because chains and locks wont stop a thief = forget about it? Madness, man.

So they moved the bike? It was not locked? What the he** are you thinking, JerryScript? Even though it is not 100% effective; a lock and chain provides excellent protection when paired with steel poles, nice thick trees or well-anchored hand rails. I know you know this, but I have had a couple scoots stolen and I do not wish that dreadful feeling on anyone who has put hard-earned money, time and effort into scoot keep-up. If I have a choice of locking it to a strong anchor out-of-sight or leaving it unlocked in-sight: I will choose the lock method 100% of the time. JMO. I pray that I never have to see this type of post from you again, JerryScript Very disheartening.

If you are experiencing a lack of power, I would recommend a leakdown test on the head and cylinder. I checked the valve seats with light before installing and they appeared sealed: On teardown I will lap the valves. I was going to lap 'em but forgot. I knew I shoulda lapped 'em. LOL Talk about conscious coming back to bite.... Bike is getting stronger as I stress it but at the beginning I knew something wasn't right (but not completely wrong, either ). I'm gonna clean the exhaust up with sandpaper and hit it with high temp paint when I tear it down. Maybe in the morning if it is nice. Thanks for the opinion. I think the lapping is spot on. Has the valve clearance been inspected? My opinion on what has been described is an overheating engine in need of a tune up. Check the valves first, is my suggestion. How many miles on the engine?
Edit: If the exhaust has too much or not enough resistance; it could cause performance issues. Excessive carbon buildup could contribute to congestion. I have a stock gy6 50cc exhaust that has 25,000 mile on it and it still performs well.
