My lovely wife of 35 years still does not understand.
Destination has little if any meaning.
Adversity that is over come,
is adventure that is had.
Trailer does need improvement but compared too
stacking the back of scoot. I will go with it.
Searchlight Nevada is always a pleasant stop.
Nice ride to Needle Calif, nice old RR Crossing town.
Maybe I can use a larger trailer?
Wildlife in Needles California. I guess I better move faster.
After leaving Needles thinking if I can make Blythe CA by
dark I might skip Yuma and go staight to Phoinex and then
wonder my way back to Vegas.
Freedom on the road.
Then 27 mile south of Needles
My wife told me to take a spare trailer tire, I took a spare intertube,
had that "I told you so" coming.
Knowing the nearest real town is 27 miles back north.
Choice 1: Attempt to ride the bear rim back to Needles
kowning it would most like disintegrate long before getting
there.
Choice 2 Breaking down the trailer "Rack Pack and Stack",
what I could on the scooter, abandon the rest on the side
of the road and move forward.
Choice 3 What I Did.
Picking up scrap pieces of tires tread, rubber bungy cord.
putting them on the rim with the electrical tape and wrapping
with the little Gorilla Tape almost enough to go around twice.
And started the 2 plus hours to get back (average 15 mph) to Needles.
Believe it or not. It lasted up to the last 1/2 mile of the
first motel in Needles. Before it fell apart. Yes, prayer works.
This is what made to Needles.
Rented a room, in the morning, more choices.
Needles has no bicyle store. (nearest one in Bullhead City)
Went to NAPA auto parts store purchase 5/8 heater hose, electrial tape,
and duck tape. And made a tire.
Looked good but in the first 1/2 mile went flat into the rim
so I repeated the process a second time with more hose and tape.
Ran it for another 1/2 mile and check on it and realize I invented
the squishy tire. It look like I was riding on a flat tire but the
rim was not cutting into the tape.
Good ride to Bullhead City, AZ
Took the 20 mile ride into Bullhead City stop at the first store
(Target) Purchase a new tire and tube. Not knowing if the other
tire or the squishy tire would go first, pack the spare and started
the home.
Two other problem keep me from pushing on ( cracked muffler bracked
and some oil loss ).
Nice view near Laughlin.
Mr. Squishy held in the first 100 miles and started giving up the
ghost. More tape and he got me home.
310 miles 2 days 1 night.
Adventure Had ride a success. Can't wait to do it again.
