my gmw rx50 has chopped up the belt. i put a new belt on and now for it to start it has to be on the stand and the wheel has to move. what am i supposed to do to fix it?

many times small fragments of the old belt will find it's way into the clutch. when that happens your clutch won't function normally. remove the cvt cover and clean the clutch.

Agreed: Something's got ya jammed-up. Remove as much as possible in the CVT area (where the belt was changed out). Variator > (check for misplaced or misaligned rollers and/or glide-keys (the little V-Shaped plastic pieces that guide the variator action [normally three of them]) Clutch > As stated in previous post re: ramblinman Also check around the starter clutch (what spins the engine when using electric start) for debris
Edit: Are we sure it was the correct replacement belt?

Look for Gates Powerlink or Bando belts only, all the others are garbage.
