I had an account on the old website but it's no longer active. So I created a new one here. That is why only the one post. I haven't been online in over a year. I really don't have much use for the internet. Lots of trolls. Anyway, thanks for the reply Rick. I spoke to my friend and let him know what you said he he said that I overreacted and shouldn't have made the post. So I apologize for that.

Just called them today and everything I needed was in stock so I placed my order online within 10 seconds of hanging up. Pretty simple if you do it like that.

I too hav an issue with them. you ordered a carb on 5/7 and was told 3 weks before it ships??!! I ordered a carb, motor and plug on 5/9 and was told the container would arrive on 5/14. On 5/20 they told me customs has held it for inspection, yesterday they still had it! What this looks like to me is... they take orders, and wait for enough to fill a container, then put in the order. Thats ok, as long as you tell the customer up front. I beleive there is a little bit of deception going on here.or at least someone is not being straightforeward. Customs will not hold up a routine shipment from china for 3 weeks. If youre not going to order until you meet a quota, say so!

When you consider how many parts Scrappy carries and sells, they would have no issues at all filling a conatiner. I seriously doubt there is any deception going on. I have dealt with Rick for many years and never seen a hint of deception or dishonesty. Jim

[replyingto=rapidjim]RapidJim[/replyingto]well first of all, i have dealt with customs several times. I will grant you that this is out of the boston port, and items were mostly from Europe. Spain, Italy France, BelgiumGermany,Austria and the UK. They never held anything that long. The main thing that is bothering me, is why don"t they answewr e-mails. I am not the only one having that issue. there are three others on this forum with the same gripe. one actually cancelled his order. We are talking about $550.00 of my money here. I'm sure you would start to question things too (being left in the dark and all)

I ordered a carb. from him on march 29. He sent me an e-mail stating they where out of stock and would be 4-6 weeks. On may 10 I called about my order. He said it was delayed by 2 weeks. I called him again on may 28. This time he said it was being held by customs. I told him I was getting rather upset, and will be taking my business else were. He did offer to refund my money though. I told him I would give him the benefit of the doubt and would wait for the carb.
If this item was out of stock it should have been stated on the website and he should not have taken my money. I have ordered many parts from him over the last several years and this is not the first time this has happened. This is unacceptable. after he sent me the e-mail stating they were out of stock. I ordered another carb from another place,I received it in less than a week.

Again, this is why myself and others have stated that you should call before ordering. They have always been really nice about letting me know if what i was looking for was in stock before placing a order. I have a part ordered that is being shipped but because I called first I knew I would have to wait. I do this with anything I order and it doesn't matter who its from. I've been very happy with Scrappy.

I did call it in on the 9th. shelly told me it was due in on the 14th, so give a few days for shipment after that. On the 20th(6 days after the 14th), she said they just found out that morning that customs had a hold on it. First: If I expected something on the 14th and did not receie it (especially a container full of backordered parts) I would follow up on it and not wait 6 days to find out!2nd: she said it would be another week. 3rd:9 days since the 20th have passed, and still no answers! Now do you see where i'm coming from?

Now I'm not bad mouthing scrappy. I have generally gotten good service from him. Some times things happen that are out of his control. I'm just sayin' a better description of out of stock parts would be a help. In the past the out of stock items were received in about 4 weeks. So no worries, I will just have another spare carb. I will still order from him. He is fairly cheap and I usually get parts in about four days, if they are in stock.
