For the record I am a Hands on engineer, not a desk driver.I get greasy and dirty right along with the mechanics working with me. And Yes I am old school with over 30 years of been there done that under my belt.I have seen full synthetic oil do damage to a 75 HP screw compressor that I once had. I don't much care for full synthetic oil. I have no problem with the motor oil advice. I do with the gearbox advice. I was not meaning to belittle anyone, but this subject has been gone over numerous times, and some guys who have no hands on experience are giving questionable advice. Not only with this, but on many subjects. I'll leave it at that ;D

Once again, I am flabbergasted by backyard engineers who think they know it all. I am an industrial engineer with over 30 years experience. I also have extensive experience with gearboxes and oil choices. I have never ever seen steel gears flake and I have seen gearboxes heat up to 375 F with no adverse effect on the oil. PETROLEUM weight gear oil.Furthermore, on my last scooter, I put 16000 miles on the same gear oil. Change it if it makes you feel better. Me, Ill save my money.

look at the setup i have in my signature. If you did'nt mess around with the airbox and exhaust(it's really not necessary), you can keep the same carb, maybe upjet on the main jet.Idle should be fine.A lot of guys use the uni filter. I dont like them. Too much trouble with them. your stock airbox can work just fine.I use mine and my exhaust that came with the scooter, And i can go 50mph plus with it. Do one thing at a time, and don't try to upgrade everything at once. break in the BBK, and upjet. You want to concentrate more on the variator, and gearing now. These guys with the high performance exhausts and unifilter are still going 50MPH. just making more noise doing it. you wont get more out of a 50cc motor no matter what you do to it. ;D

[replyingto=rockynv]rockynv[/replyingto]If you have ozone near a main distribution panel, It's caused by arcing and you have a very serious problem. tires are the least of your worries.

I would imagine that a lot depends on the climate too. A tire in a tropical environment will not dry out as fast as one in an arid environment .

nice. did you getan owners manual with it? I have a yy50qt30. looks exactly like the yy50qt28E, but with better mirrors. I can't find an owners manual anywhere. Maybe there is an adress or something in your manual I can use to contact someone to get one ;D Attachments:

probably Km. every 1500 miles should be more than enough. for motor oil.Not gear oil. that stays good for a long long time.

Change the gear oil 1(ONE )time when it is new. Put in a good quality 80= weight oil AND FORGET ABOUT IT. just check level periodically. Gear oil is not motor oil and is not subject to the heat or by products from combustion that motor oil is. The gear oil is good for the life of the scooter. How often do you change the differential oil in your car?If I remember correctly, it's recommended at 60,000 miles. It's exactly the same stuff.I put 16,000 on my first scooter with the same gear oil. It's a complete waste of time and money to change it every couple of thousand miles.

DX Check and double check everything, with the timing marks, and with your eyes.

they are amber, so they are originally the directionals. You could probably wire them up either way you want without loading down the system.

Yeah, 52 litres is HUGE! almost twice the size of a standard sscooter trunk (27-30litre) .That case is for a full size touring bike.
