go with the trunk if it's the same color as the bike.Once you start using it, you'll love it!It's better to carry stuff in because it isn't getting the heat from the motor.especially food and stuff.

I've had my trunk on since I bought mine two years ago. Have just recently removed it to change the look some. I have used it daily and really miss not having it handy. So now, I'm torn, between the look or the convenience.

Did you notice any change in top speed? The trunk on the BMS is a hulk compared to my T3s

I haven't noticed any speed changes due to the trunk missing. I just miss my trunk. Seriously though, I've just put a new belt on and dropped to 11 gram rollers, so it all feels different. Also, I rarely ever hit 6K RPMs. I just don't run WOT, except a couple times during break-in.

Personally I really dislike the look of a trunk hanging off the back end. Sort of like an afterthought. That's why even when I found a Vespa trunk with lights that should've matched my Piggy's paint for something crazy like $50, I passed. Just looked tacked on.
Instead I got a seat bag that holds pretty much everything I need for work--purse (and trust me, fellas, you do NOT want to go looking in my purse, it's scary in there!), helmet bag, towel, bag of clothes to change into after work, used to stuff shoes too 'til I took a couple pair to stay at work. And I haven't even unzipped the expandable sides! Only downside is it's not secure. Then again, so far nobody's stolen my towel.... ^) Bonus, it provides a touch of backrest for me.

Well, I have to agree that trunks don't always look all that great. BUT... they STILL look more or less "OK" on scooters. They usually look best when painted to match the scoot, but, some scoots look good with the matte-black trunks.
On the up-side, I'm so used to using mine for carrying all sorts of stuff, that I would REALLY miss it. I put my helmet and glasses in there when shopping, and with 6-years of practice, I can pack a LOT of goods in there.
That truly AWFUL welded-rod frame for the grab-rail broke the fist time my Wife leaned against the back-pad on the trunk. I had it welded, and it broke again the first time I put any real weight in the trunk. (The manual says 11-pounds max. and I don't exceed that) but it broke again. So... I "tied" it together with handcuff-style zip-ties and it has not broken since! I also made struts from a chrome towel rack to support it.
Trunks are HANDY! I'll put up with the cosmetics for the convenience.
My thoughts...

Leo...that's so funny,...That's the same way I've had mine mounted. Works really well actually.

Trunks, tail boxes, whatever, are ugly. But handy. MY solution: The little 8 gallon Rubbermaid ActionPacker box. I glued a small piece of sheet steel to the inside bottom, drilled four holes, use two u-bolts that can mount/dismount off the rear rack in under a minute. With two small padlocks so the stuff will still be there when I open it. I can carry 30 pounds of groceries in the box, 10 pounds more under the seat, and put the bulky in a grocery bag on the hook in front of seat.

Seems pretty much split down the middle. I was concerned more about the look. I dont haul much. I think this trunk on this scoot is ascetically nice. Plus a bigger end cant hurt in the profile of traffic behind you.
