High mounted reflector and a place to carry groceries and to store your fishing gear is a good thing. My topcase has a Berkley rod holder mounted on it to carry my rod when I go fishing.
I have the Puig Sport Fairing on my Sport City which has the defelctor also and it is not a problem. The Puig Sport Fairing instead of a windshield give me several more mph on the expressway and about 5 more mpg.

I know of no law thats makes you use it if you have one. I say get it and use it when you need/want.

Seems pretty much split down the middle. I was concerned more about the look. I dont haul much. I think this trunk on this scoot is ascetically nice. Plus a bigger end cant hurt in the profile of traffic behind you. I have no need for a trunk at this time , but when and if the time comes then that I need a trunk then I most likely will put the trunk back on .

I like the look without the trunk. But the convenience of having the extra storage far outweighs the aesthetics!

GIVI makes removable trunks. Monolock. You can easily remove it from the base when not in use. It's a pushbutton latch built into the lock.I have one, but I wired my running, brake and directionals to it.They make a kit for the brake light with a plug, but I did'nt want to spend the extra $ WWW.giviusa.com

It is nice to be able to use the case as a removable tool box or even luggage when you get to your destination and pop it off with the turn of a key and take it with you. Still need to put the passenger back rest on mine. My passengers really appreciate having the sturdy Givi behind them as the Aprilia sits them relatively high up and they like the extra security of having something to prevent them from sliding off the back of the bike. My Lance Vintage had a real sissy bar as the brittle plastic top case that came with it would have just shattered if someone leaned back too hard against it. Still looking for removable hard side cases to go with the top case for when I travel. It is a 12/14 hour ride on the interstate to visit my sister and the extra capacity for tools, emergency supplies, clothes and potentialy for some gifts and such would be nice

howdy, i also like having the top trunk which around town holds my helmet, gloves and such under lock. there's room under seat for raingear etc and even room up front where the whole front tilts rearward and has room for gloves and a power point for charging the cell phone. so to put it in focus, when i travel for weekends etc most of what i need can go in the on=board storage with only a small duffle for extras. the top-case comes off with key and i carry the duffle and top-case in where ever i am overnighting.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya. ken

I have a solution for you. You can buy me a trunk and and I'll tell you if you should get one on yours!! Brilliant! I'll await your confirmation. If I don't hear from you soon I 'll just tell them to charge your card. cheers ;o ^)

Love/hate.
Love the cargo space hate the look, hate the rattle. I now use a bikers friend bag. Tons of room, easy to remove and no rattle.

[replyingto=tarkus]tarkus[/replyingto]Is it the trunk that rattles or the cargo inside? My trunk does not rattle and I lined my trunk with 1/4 inch foam....perfectly quiet.

The Givi I have doesn't rattle and while the trunk on my Lance did it was due to worn drive faces and bearing damage from grooving caused by a Kevlar belt. After replacing all the parts damaged by the belt and going to a Gates Premium belt no more vibration or rattles.

I personally like the trunk look, adds size to the scoot, especially the 50s.

I personally like the trunk look, adds size to the scoot, especially the 50s. They do tend to make a scooter more visible especially when parked. On my old bike I mounted some LED running board lights above the trunk to further improve being seen by traffic behind me. I had gotten nudged from behind by a tailgaiter in a truck that forgot I was there after he pulled up too close behind me so I added the extra high mounted lights to improve my chances and started wearing reflective armored gear instead of dark leathers after that. Changed out to full face helmets in bright white or reflective silver too.

[replyingto=rockynv]rockynv[/replyingto]Anything to improve your chances of being seen is helpful. I have a friend who just added a string of flashing red LEDs to the back of his helmet and I saw a fellow on a Harley a couple of nights ago with flashing LEDs on the back of his Lime Green high visibility vest.
