look at the setup i have in my signature. If you did'nt mess around with the airbox and exhaust(it's really not necessary), you can keep the same carb, maybe upjet on the main jet.Idle should be fine.A lot of guys use the uni filter. I dont like them. Too much trouble with them. your stock airbox can work just fine.I use mine and my exhaust that came with the scooter, And i can go 50mph plus with it. Do one thing at a time, and don't try to upgrade everything at once. break in the BBK, and upjet. You want to concentrate more on the variator, and gearing now. These guys with the high performance exhausts and unifilter are still going 50MPH. just making more noise doing it. you wont get more out of a 50cc motor no matter what you do to it. ;D

[replyingto=salracer]sailracer[/replyingto]Thanks for the incite. Unfortunately I had to learn the hard way about the uni and exhaust. lol Putting the stock box back on was the best idea since electricity. I'm leaving my exhaust on. I makes my bike look better. Not too much louder. I can't wait untill ii'm done wit my bike. Its gunna be sexy.

A Uni is for sunny rides since you can not in the rain . I had a TaoTao ATM with an Air Sal 50mm BBK two 3/8 holes drilled in the airbox , stock pipe and used MJ

Stock on mine is 33. I tried a 38 when I added my 50mm BBK, but it was too rich. I'm going to get a 35 and see if that works better, the stock 33 doesn't maintain consistent idle speed (very slow up and down at times).

Hi Jerry - I was reading up on your post regarding your jets, I have a 50cc Q6 trike and I experience the same idle inconsistency as you describe . I have a 19 carburetor on my scoot and have adjusted the air/gas screw a number of times but still get uneven idle. If you try different jets, I would appreciate it if you would let me know the results . I don't know what size mine is ,but I expect it is the same as yours as it is also stock. Thanks

Where should I drill it? Or follow your setup? Whats your top?

So, I got the 35 pilot jet today, and it's still not as good as the stock 33. I though when putting on a BBK with a straight line air filter, you would need to upjet the pilot, but apparently not (at least on my scooter). They didn't have a 92 main, so I picked up a , and it does seem to be giving me a better plug color, no longer bright white, now it's got a nice tan. I also tried putting the stock air filter box back on, caused major bog at WOT, and wouldn't achieve top speed no matter how I tried to work the throttle. Put the straight line air filter back on, and it's vroom vroom vroom! BTW- This is all with the stock exhaust. I'm thinking of drilling 3 3/8" holes in it, and if it doesn't help or actually hurts performance, I'll JBweld them back up.
