Hey guys here again with the 2004 Eton Beamer PN2 Engine: 50cc 1E40QMB 2 Stroke my last working set up Stock carb with stock Jet, Stock Filter assembly with Expansion chamber (i bogged a lot during 1-17MPH) then went great to 47mph on flats At 47 it begain to once again bogg as if it needed more air/fuel So i bought a jet, an open air filter (UNI Style) and still had the expansion chamber pipe on it after install i gave it a test ride! Climbed GREAT up too 30MPH No bogging what so ever i could not get any higher than 30MPH ?!? So i switched the UNI style filter out for the stock one and i bogged from 1-20mph and once again reached 47mph on flats.. The Main question i have here: Why is this scooter bogging out with the uni style filter and working with the stock filter, why is this scooter still dependent on air flow restriction? Any Advise, Insight, Opinions or Suggestions welcome !

Thanks a ton for the responses guys!, I will be buying a OEM Carb rebuild kit for about 65 or so soonish than, I will deal with the leaky situation until I can get it here , I would have thought it would have been cheaper for a rebuild kit, for the price of the rebuild kit, I could buy a whole new carb off ebay. Maybe I will, but this 19mm stock carb tickles my fancy still

So a good cleaning and if that does not cure it up, a new float needle ?
Are you positive ?

So here we are once again with another minor issue on the 2004 Eton Beamer PN2 for a while now my scoot has been slowly leaking a mixture of un-burnt 2T oil and Premium gas i have attached photos for viewing (i have not dismantled the carb yet) or anything i figured i would ask around a bit before i go head in on this i need to get it fixed up, my land lord is not too happy about what it is doing to the cement and is threatening to keep my 1400$ in deposits if i do not put a stop to it and clean of the area Not to mention it could be a potential hazard for me or the scoot for worst case both.. The mixture is leaking from the bottom of the Air filter housing when using a foam K&N Style filter with a plastic housing or (raid guard) The oil actually pools up in the plastic housing and when i go too start the bike it has WAY to much oil, it takes like 20 kicks to start and then is Cleaning choking to death and will not move it takes me like 3 minutes of reving it so it does not die just to burn the oil enough too move, then i have too ride around the block a good 2 times before it burns off and runs normally, Of course it smokes all the while i am doing this 8 minutes start and run procedure i have become accustom to doing (unless i have recently ran it and burnt the oil then she fires the first kick) Attachments:

Nice kit , thank you for the responses, sorry for my own Late response i just got back from a 300 miles trip i decided on whim to do on the scoot broke 7000 miles during that was fun, i use Gps for my speedometer, although the instrument panel does accurately show speed, but only up too 50mph then it is useless past that i assure you it does 54 on flats, i pass cars all day hehe think it would be best to get a single ring or two ring piston ?, is there any Real reason to go with either ?, would a single ring piston brake in faster or would it not matter because both rings would be moving up and down at the same time anyway? Personally i think having two rings is a good thing, my last scoot had a raing melt and failt (bottom ring) i heard it happen while cruising at around 37mph, But i was able to ride the scoot 1 mile or so back home on the second ring believe it or not lol i am very pleased with this scoot, she does 54mph and the only upgrade on her is the chamber pipe exhaust (stock main jet) i plan to go up to a # main jet, open air filter Also THINKING about buying a big bore kit obviously, but the good ones aren't cheap and i am not rich lol. already have the jet and open air filter in the mail, still figuring out witch type of kit and brand i want

I have this same scooter, it is a 2004 Eton Beamer PN2 50cc scooter Here is a link too the online owners manual - www.anythingatv.com/technical/Manuals/OM_PN2.pdfAnd i Am % sure you need a new Top End! (Cylinder, Cylinder head, Head and bottom gasket, Piston, Piston Rings, Wrist Pin **10mm**, Wrist Pin bearings And Cir Clips) All found on Ebay for verry Cheap (i would go ahead and get a 70cc big bore kit because they are about 20$ cheaper and duh have more horse power!) As for what type of engine ? Model Number: 1E40QMB This scooter has a Taiwanese Built Horizontal Minarelli Jog 50 Clone Engine made by SYM the same Company that Builds the TGB scooters and they make engines for Ford and a few other big name dealers, like yamaha ! How will you know if you need a new end ? well the compression test was a dead give away, but always better safe than sorry, take off the engine shrouds and fan cover be careful off the oil cable that lines the fan shroud Remove the Exhaust header from the cylider wall's port with a 10mm socket or wrech, Then remove the Cylinder's head and well as the cylinder and Take a look at the inside of the cylinder for scoring or wear marks, if none just replace the piston and rings, if marks on the cylinder are present than you will need to replace the piston, rings and cylinder After that its scoot scoot scoot!

Hello once again peoples I have a 2004 Eton Beamer PN2 scooter with a 1E40QMB Horizontal Minarelli Oil injected 2 Stroke Engine (2004 Yamaha Zuma Clone By SYM made in Taiwan) I just installed a new Top end about 1300 miles back, All stock except a Benelli EX-M2 Expansion Chamber pipe my buddy gave me a few days back i am Topping out at 54MPH on flats, 51MPH Uphill, 58 Downhill My Carb has the Stock Main jet i put on a open air filter and it bogged out and would not run past 10 miles per hour so i went back to stock... My questions: What brand BBK should i buy with in the 1$-175$ range? What Main jet size should i run with considering i plan to use a open air filter as well as a 70cc BBK? Will i also need to Upjet my Pilot jet? (noob question) not sure if it matters or not? Considering i will only be braking in new Rings with a BBK, how many miles should be safe for a good brake in period ? (the Owners Manual for the scooter *50cc stock* says to run 50:1 oil ratio in the first tank of gas, and to not exceed 18MPH for extended periods of time for the first 1000 Miles) Should i still follow this ? and Last but certainly not least, considering the average speeds i listed above, any opinions on what speeds i may be able to reach with the new BBK After a proper brake in? Thanks i will be checking every 20 minutes for responses !
