I really would like to fix up my old 2004 Eton Beamer PN2 2T
i am just not convinced that it would be reliable enough, i put like 1k miles on these poor scoots every month or so,
so upkeep get's fairly expensive, i had had horrible luck with the carb on this one, the oem replacement is expensive, and the knock off's i've tried did not work correctly with out midification i did not have the supplies or tools required to do I.E -
throttle cable adjustment, and it would (i think have to be oem or close as it splits into the oil injection cable as well) i am not going to overlook fixing it, but i am wondering if it is even worth it,
would have to replace: carb, airfilter&housing, expansion chamber exhaust, Head lamps, turn signals, Tire's, floor mat, starter motor, and as i said above the paint looks terrible, so i would have to consider a paint job
Is the Eton Beamer PN2 High enough quality of a scooter to consider sinking money into making it ''like new'' ?
It Is a Taiwanese Build, Engine built by SYM
Honestly i do not know to much about scooter brands and such, i see a ton of mixed reviews about VIP taotao's ect being garbage, but my local shop tells me they see vip's coming in for routine service with anywhere from 1-25k miles on the meter!!! -
a week ago i spoke to him about my beamer, and some scooters he had for sale, he said he had a vip taotao come in 3 days prior to our call with 22k miles
should i just opt for a cheapo ?

See the thing with the beamer is, it has a 47mm bbk on it currently, compression is there, spark is there, IT WAS RUNNING, i ordered and installed 3 different Carb's off ebay, all mikuni 2T 1e40qmb knock off carbs, Only one of them got my bike to fire up (with and with out adjustment)
and the one that fired up, Made my scooter Shoot forward as soon as it fired up, due to the ''throttle arm?'' the curved metal inlet where the throttle cable goes into the carb and into the slider, Well, basically throttle cable and carb did not match up even though the ebay add Clearly stated it was a stock replacement, then went on to say install and go!
i installed and it sure did go, but i nearly did not hit the kill switch in time... damn near went through my house, the Second carb i ordered, the scoot would not even fire up with, no idea why, it just did not Get any fual (witch was the issue with my original carb, a real mikuni carb, it begain leaking fuel from the float bowl, i did a rebuild, it stopped leaking but would not no matter how i adjusted it, fire up)
i appear to be having an issue getting fuel to my engine... yes it starts with a shot or two of starting fluid, i am broke for the next 3 weeks as tax return comes in, but i plan to buy a whole new scooter
my eton beamer has a few issues - Carb issue as stated above, Both front, rear, left & Right turn signals need replacing, Only my high beam head lamps work and i am not sure why, tires are fairly worn down, paint job is HORRIBLE!, rubber floor mat is missing,
so i would need to put in like 500$ on the beamer i assume, carb, floor mat, turn signals, head lamp, *i forgot to mention the starter motor is DEAD* so a starter, and labor for all of it (after installing 3 different carbs and doing a rebuild on my original only to have it still gathering spider webs)
I Really Hate the thought of ordering yet another carb, having it arrive, installing it, walking the scoot 1.3 miles for a (third tank of gas) to try and start it only to have it not start yet again, i Do know how to adjust 2T carb's but am having no luck it is extremely frustrating

Hello there guys and gal's, it has been awhile since i posted i believe my last post was about my 2004 Eton beamer pn2 2T scooter, witch had since died due to carburetor issues my local shop wants to charge me 161 for the carb, and 70 per hour in labor, and to be honest, i have no idea if it is more than just the carb, could be reed valves ect - I am stuck between two totally different scooters, one is a two stroke, and the other a four stroke i am looking for reliability, Efficiency, and of course Low Repair cost's The scooters i am looking at are listed below! This is the Four Stroke www.superiorpowersports.com/50cc_gas_scooter_p/ib50sc-maddog2.htmThis is the Two Stroke www.powerrideoutlet.com/roketa-mcr-15-50-49cc-2-stroke-gas-scooter-with-top-speed-45-mph-12-aluminum-wheels-large-body-frame.htmlplease let me know what you guys think, experience with these sellers and these brand of scooters!

Update! Big Bore installed (72cc), super high quality port work, i am 100% satisfied with this package! A++ Stock Cylinder head fits! SOO i took off the top end, the cylinder walls remain undamaged, the piston however has EXTREME scrapes All around it all over its horrible! BUT it was still running like a Champ 50mph! Got a bit of blow by from it BUT none made it too the crank case so all clear there (if i had continued riding it) there would have been blow by inside the case i'm sure Thanks for the help guys!

Well last night i took a 3 miles ride forgetting for the first time to manually check oil levels well sure enough i got 3.5 miles from home and was slowing from 45 to around 30mph to take a turn when my engine stalled out in heavy traffic (it acted exactly like a blown top end) So i pulled her over and checked the spark plug cable all that good stuff too no avail i tried to kick start it a few times also no good, walked it a mile or so and tried to again kick start but it would not fire up so i walked it home and parked it This morning i went out side and tried again just for kicks and sure enough it fired Right up with no issue i noticed there was a 100% lack of smoke or smell and checked the oil tank it was Bone dry so i poured a cap full into the gas tank and refilled the oil tank guys think i have done considerable damage to the piston/rings/cylinder? main question i am here to answer is (what causes a oil indicator light to stop functioning and why?, where and how can i replace / fix it?)

Sweet, that's the response i was looking for (as long as i can use it until i can spare the cash for a new cylinder head) On another note, i am a bit scared on the purchase i made, i am buying a CK05 Kit from ''motor99motor'' on Ebay 99.3% positive feedback Feedback score: 38282 But he also has 57 BAD reviews and after reading them its Very Shady sounding i have messaged him a few times, item has not shipped and he has not responded feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=motor99motor&ftab=AllFeedback&myworld=trueI'm sure it will come but i do feel skeptical after reading the bad reviews...

it appears i have 5g rollers right now, not sure if that is stock for the pn2 beamer, or if it was installed by the previous owner
(whom i would like too kick in the a**) for riding it 5300 miles with out changing the Transmission oil's
Changed it tonight with 80-90w Lucas gear oil the oil that came out was solid black with grime
The new oil that went in looked like Olive Oil
