Hey guys here again with the 2004 Eton Beamer PN2 Engine: 50cc 1E40QMB 2 Stroke my last working set up Stock carb with stock Jet, Stock Filter assembly with Expansion chamber (i bogged a lot during 1-17MPH) then went great to 47mph on flats At 47 it begain to once again bogg as if it needed more air/fuel So i bought a jet, an open air filter (UNI Style) and still had the expansion chamber pipe on it after install i gave it a test ride! Climbed GREAT up too 30MPH No bogging what so ever i could not get any higher than 30MPH ?!? So i switched the UNI style filter out for the stock one and i bogged from 1-20mph and once again reached 47mph on flats.. The Main question i have here: Why is this scooter bogging out with the uni style filter and working with the stock filter, why is this scooter still dependent on air flow restriction? Any Advise, Insight, Opinions or Suggestions welcome !

Can't help you but you may live to regret the use of the term "bogging"........

Who knows? Anyway if its bogging on the lower rpms try leaning the mix screw out. How does it rev on the stand does it hesitate when you crack the throttle quickly to 1/2 or so?

not at all, it works great on the stand, it appears i only seem to have issues during take off and at the top end speeds, not sure what to do about it
i really want to run a open air filter but it is making me bogg out

When you changed the pipe, put in the # jet and the open air filter and it ran great up to 30mph. Did you try different roller weights at that point. Sounds like you might have been on the right track but didn't do any thing to the cvt.

When I changed to a performance pipe, up jetted and open element air filter. I had to put heavier roller weights in. Stock I had 4 gram rollers and went up to 4.5 gram rollers. I also put stiffer clutch springs in to make it launch harder. A stiffer contra spring will make it go up hills better. Remember when you rev it on the stand it's under no load so every time you change something you have to ride it to see if it's better or worse.

it appears i have 5g rollers right now, not sure if that is stock for the pn2 beamer, or if it was installed by the previous owner
(whom i would like too kick in the a**) for riding it 5300 miles with out changing the Transmission oil's
Changed it tonight with 80-90w Lucas gear oil the oil that came out was solid black with grime
The new oil that went in looked like Olive Oil

Bogging on a 2T is bad news !!! . I ran a 75 MJ with airbox and stock exhaust . I bought the small Uni in the picture that was really a vent cover instead of an airfilter and used a MJ and it ran great . I later bought the proper big red Uni oiled it but my dealer nor did the over a dozen scooter and motorcycle shops have my type of jet larger than a . Being impatient I decided to try it anyways . I had just a slight bog but no stall and I only wanted to go around the block . It seized and I had to push it home . It even melted the tip off of the spark plug and in my over 30 years of wrenching never once had this happen to me . I know it is easy to order Mikuni VM11/22 main jets like from www.power-barn .com and others but they only sell them as singles rather than a kit . Well PFS now sells a Minarelli jet kit for only 15 bucks www.partsforscooters.com/114-50-Minarelli-Main-Jet-Kit?sc=34&category=133078With a 2T you always want to be a lil rich to be safe and have it perform good !!
