Well last night i took a 3 miles ride forgetting for the first time to manually check oil levels well sure enough i got 3.5 miles from home and was slowing from 45 to around 30mph to take a turn when my engine stalled out in heavy traffic (it acted exactly like a blown top end) So i pulled her over and checked the spark plug cable all that good stuff too no avail i tried to kick start it a few times also no good, walked it a mile or so and tried to again kick start but it would not fire up so i walked it home and parked it This morning i went out side and tried again just for kicks and sure enough it fired Right up with no issue i noticed there was a 100% lack of smoke or smell and checked the oil tank it was Bone dry so i poured a cap full into the gas tank and refilled the oil tank guys think i have done considerable damage to the piston/rings/cylinder? main question i am here to answer is (what causes a oil indicator light to stop functioning and why?, where and how can i replace / fix it?)

side note: i do not rely on the oil indicator lamp BUT clearly it is a helpful reminder (when working) but this is why i do not rely on it

With out knowing the exact mechanism/sensor being used i would check for obvious disconnected/corroded wires. Make sure you can make the light come on (meaning is the light good??)

i would just do away with the oil injection altogether, and premix, it isn't that big of a deal, i usually have a gas can of premixed gas at home and i keep oil with me, in case i have to get gas on the road, i had my oil pump fail on me i was lucky as it just dumped in a lot of oil and fouled the plug, the only way you will be able to tell how much damage was done is to take apart the top end and inspect it hopefully it might be just the rings, but i would check it out before running it and possibly doing more damage

Always top off the oil tank when you get gas and you will be fine

Update! Big Bore installed (72cc), super high quality port work, i am 100% satisfied with this package! A++ Stock Cylinder head fits! SOO i took off the top end, the cylinder walls remain undamaged, the piston however has EXTREME scrapes All around it all over its horrible! BUT it was still running like a Champ 50mph! Got a bit of blow by from it BUT none made it too the crank case so all clear there (if i had continued riding it) there would have been blow by inside the case i'm sure Thanks for the help guys!
