I'm going to be installing hoca's 18/46 gears as soon as this week hopefully. My stock gears are 11:1 and my rpms are 9,500@44 mph. Its gets there quick tho.. But the hoca 18/46 are 8.3:1 should have good top end speed with them. I want to go even taller 17/41 which is about 7.8:1 but ill have to throw in hoca's 44mm stroker crank to pull them gears maybe.

pull the flywheel and check the woodruff key the flywheel may have move and sheared the key making the timing retard. I had this same issue on a Honda spree exhaust header getting red hot, no power and barely wanted to start when warmed up. We replaced the woodruff key and it was running back to normal.

Millsc, I'm so glad you mentioned you had 12" wheels. I was getting ready to order the hoca 18/46 gears. now I'm going to try to get a little more taller gearing because I have 10" wheels I'll guess I'll try the 17/41. I'm about to max out my scooter with the stroker. Im trying to get the 60mph mark or hopefully over.

It'll be just fine running a straight gas line to the carb. I've completely remove my fuel petcock and installed a fuel shut off valve on the line. ;D

I've been looking to buy a real keihin 20mm carb for my 139qmb to replace the stock sealed the carb (but not sealed anymore to replace stock jet for bbk). I've looked on other websites but there's look a bit iffy. Does anyone have a link that brings me to a trusted website that sells genuine keihin carbs for a reasonable price? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

if I'm not mistaken after engine break- in I believe it varies between 200-400 miles depending were u ride and weather conditions. I usually change the engine oil every 300 miles if I'm using non synthetic.. since these scooters don't have oil filters.

I would get a performance free flowing exhaust some jets for the carb and possibly a performance air filter if you don't want to modify your air box.. just my (o)

So "T" stands for top dead center and "F" fully advance? if I were to set the timing on fully advance how would the engine run?
