Hello all -- As I learn how to use this board etc., I have to first thank those I could not thank properly before : tvnacman, craisin, ramblinman, jerseyboy and alleyoop.
This is a 2013 roughouse 50cc 2T scooter with 8000km on it. It came to us with 30psi and the exhaust loose at the cyl. head. The cylinder, piston and rings were "scorched black". We put a new jug kit in. Compression now 120. After properly attaching the exhaust the customer's test ride was all positive, even better than before. A few days later he comes back - scooter is dying up hills. Won't start again until it cools down.
Our test ride revealed the muffler Red Hot became red hot, and its performance decrease the longer you rode. Compression is still 120.
Thoughts?? ::: Muffler is what we are thinking - about to order once we have customer's approval. A supplier's mech. feels more inclined that it's the carb or aftermarket air filter. But, it's the stock air filter and clean.
I look forward to your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and comments. thanks, Roy

Check the OIL Feed and or OIL MIXTURE it may not be getting enough OIL FOR LUBRICATION, it should smoke some, so if no smoke is evident out of the muffler it lacks oil lubrication. I do not believe it has anything to do with the muffler, if it is clogged it would have a very hard time even starting let alone running. Alleyoop

Oil injector or premix ? What is the number on the spark plug ? My scooter dealer told me about a guy who used to hot of a plug and it would seize . Do a plug chop since a 2T you want to be a lil rich since too lean it will cook and destroy the piston . What size MM is the carb and main jet size ? Does it smoke at start up ?

pull the flywheel and check the woodruff key the flywheel may have move and sheared the key making the timing retard. I had this same issue on a Honda spree exhaust header getting red hot, no power and barely wanted to start when warmed up. We replaced the woodruff key and it was running back to normal.
