So all this talk about gas tank floats and I'm lost. Will this fix my crazy gas gauge problem? Most likely not. When the gas gauge is off...as EVERY one of them I have seen..it is because the rod the float goes on needs to be bent into the proper position. Case in point..my gf scoot read FULL all day long as we rode....then 'bam' it instantly dropped to well below a half tank in a few seconds. From the factory they are commonly slightly off...but mostly...WAY off. How I fix them....remove the sending unit..drain the tank...now assuming you have the typical one gallon tank...add 1/2 gallon of gas. Put the sending unit back in and it should read 1/2 tank(sadly % or so of them will not) Now bend the wire rod that the float is on place back in tank holding it down firmly and see what ya get. Do this until you get an accurate reading. Even once you do....these things are inherently still gonna be a bit off...but at least you are close now and won't be pushing your scoot to the closest gas station. Tip: Bending the wire down makes it read higher(Closer to full)...bending it down makes it read lower(closer to empty) It may take a few tries..but once you have it reading 1/2 tank when you filled it to 1/2 tank..you will a bit more happy and closer to actual fuel level. I do this for free for all my customers.....anything free is good for business...

Lmao at the DUI on a horse...my Uncle got one too I've never even heard of that until my Aunt had to go bail him out. I don't drink..but we have MANY town drunks that ride scoots because they lost their driving privilege. Riding a scoot is illegal for them as well...but they think they have less chance of getting caught. In fact in Michigan if you get a DUI...you cannot ride a motorized bicycle...go-ped or lawn tractor even! Also one area of town is a well known drug zone.....they started riding scooters to deliver them cause it looks less suspicious than a 19 yo driving an Escalade or Lexxus. Soooo...we good citizens get stopped and harassed all the time due to suspicion. I understand the Police are just doing their job...but no need to treat EVERY scooter rider like dirt...pat them down and check inside our scoots. It has made me late for several Medical and other appointments...so now I leave 15 minutes earlier just in case. I don't mind being stopped...I just despise the rudeness in which they do so... i.e. "How much have you had to drink?"...nothing officer "Why are you lying to me?" I'm not..let me blow into the tube. Or....."Why was your license suspended?.. It wasn't officer..I have not even had a ticket in 21 years. "Well..stand over their..face the woods..hands at your side and DO NOT even move an inch...I am calling this in and when it comes back you and I are going for nice ride" <--already assuming I am guilty! We get harassed by township...county and state boys non stop. They also claim aside from DUI and drugs...the reason they stop us is because ANYBODY over the age of 18 riding a scooter is their probable cause...as folks 18 and over drive cars not scooters. Talk about labeling....good gawd my mother is 74 yo and she rides a cute lil pink Retro scoot I bought her...she barely drives her car during nice weather as she is on a fixed income...gas is costly..and she just loves to ride. And yes..she gets stopped too! Pisses me off how a few losers can cause the rest of us so many problems. As I said I don't really mind being stopped as I know everything is ok...BUT I REALLY HATE being treated like when they do...they are rude and treat you like a Felon...and when your license comes back ok...and no warrants for you..they LOOK for something...such as check your hi/lo beams...tail light...brake light..horn...turn signals..all that stuff...

When I was selling scoots.. .002 was commonly how they came and once warmed up they lost power. About 50% of them came set at .000 yup...they were tight against the valve stem and would not even start..or if they did they did not run right from the 'git go' At my repair/parts shop I set them all at .004 intake .005 exhaust and have yet to see a customer lose power when the scoot warms up. In my opinion they just assemble the engine...and I doubt they set valve lash from the factory

[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]I always start cheap....and very basic...then add parts from there vice throwing every performance part on at once. If you do it one performance part at a time and run into problems..guess what? It is more easy to diagnose...cause the last part you put on is the first one that caused the problem. Here is a very nice kit that I have put on for 3 folks so far. Fit and finish was great..power was way up there and over all they ran great! www.ebay.com/itm/321093898987?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

O' GREAT SPIRIT
Whose voice i hear in the winds, And whose breathe gives life to all the world, hear me! I am small and weak, I need your strength and wisdom.
Let Me Walk In Beauty, and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset.
Make My Hands respect the tings you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make Me Wise so that i may understand the things you have taught my people.
Let Me Learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock.
I SEEK STRENGTH, not be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy- MYSELF.
MAKE ME ALWAYS READY to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes.
SO WHEN LIFE FADES, as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame. Ahina taki gulonanchek hada doyimeset.....(Thank you for the beautiful words of inspiration)

Ok thanks for clarifying...it was a table knife..we always called them butter knives...regardless I could not get it to cut this leather like well weathered Chippewa skin....but the kid sure did a good job. @ Doug When I worked in the ER we saw many saw accidents guessing % where from table saws and the guy NOT using a pusher rod....using his hand instead to feed the lumber he was cutting. One night about 8:30 I look up and laying in the bay getting ready for the OR....was my 25 yo Nephew. He cut his arm off just above the wrist on his right arm. He was using a band saw..tripped and fell into it. The only thing holding the remains on was some skin. Kewl part was they re attached it. It was useless for 2 years...but now he has partial use of it..but very little feeling in it. He was lucky when he tripped and fell into the saw....as it could have been his head or neck instead...

Those are good Variators I have a 115mm version of it on my Trike and it is great. I can bring it up to speed and backoff and it will hold 50mph at 5100-5200 rpms at 60mph the rpms are 6100-6200 motor just purrs. TVNACMAN(John) sells them at a very good price. Alleyoop Same here..I have one on my 2T Jonway Hornet....unlike the stock one when I let off throttle it slowed down. With this performance one it is just as you describe...I get up to 50mph...back off to 1/2 throttle and it holds that speed and does not decelerate like the stock one..woo hoo..

Sorry to hear about both your tragedy's.. I myself was shot in the back through my right upper kidney by a civilian lady with an AK47 in Kandahar...we were passing out Skittles and bottled water to the children. She told their police we were trying to poison the kids and that is why she did it. Hurt like ..and embarrassing as a Combat Medic(Corpsman) my Marines had to take care of me instead. Anyway about your leg twitch problem..I suggest laying off the caffeine and for gawd sake man....when ya gotta piss..go do it...don't just hold it and dance like that.. ;D Carasdad Thanx for your service. And, yea, who knows what the 'friendlies' are gonna do. Yw...would do it again....but retired after 21 years cause I got tired of playing in that big sand box in the middle east...

China will label any scoot with any name or markings you want on it. Same scoot..just a different name. My buddy owns a shop and sells scoots...I am his part time mechanic. He took me to the trade show to see all the new scoots. His name is Jerry. We went to one booth and jokingly I asked the guy if he could make some scoots and label them "Jerry's Jammer" The guy said.. "For you yes we make..tell me color choice and number of pieces you wish...will say Jerry's Jammer and any other decals you request" Which explains to me now why I see the same scoots come to my shop with only a different name... Jonway...Roketa..Sunny etc..

Don't feel bad...my girl friends 19 yo son cut his finger DEEP...with a butter knife!! A butter knife?? So I tried to do it cause it doesn't seem possible...well...and it wasn't...I couldn't even break the skin. But then I am an outdoors person with skin like leather....where all he does is sit inside and play video games..so he must have skin like a new born baby. All I know is that is the FIRST time in my 50 years of life that I ever heard a person cut themselves with a butter knife. I just can't wrap my head around that one...

Sorry Davec, Did not mean to upset you due to your accident and the loss of part of your leg. But you have to not take things personal take me for example. Besides the Wound in my head in Nam that I already mentioned and made fun of I did not finish the whole story. In Dec of 1966 7 days before being pulled out of the field, I was supposed to be home for xmas. Well the hit the fan as they say we found the NVA we were looking for. A battalion 1500 dug in trenchs and bunkers against 500 of us. I was hit with 3 rounds on my left side one above the knee, one in my left hip and one in the arm. Needless to say all the bones in my left hip were shattered, no ball and cup and part of the thigh bone below the ball gone. I have a fused left hip the leg is 3" short and I have to walk with a cane. Been walking with a cane since 1968 cannot even get on a bicycle because I cannot open up the right enough for much of anything. Cannot run or cross my left or right leg If I am on the ground hard to get back up I have to use the small of my back to walk which has narrowed the bones in the small of my back and pinches the nerves. When that happens and I am walking my left just collapses when the pain shots down the leg and I have to be ready otherwise I am down. But you learn to live with it and ONLY if someone makes a comment that is NOT IN FUN about my condition will I respond in kind. They call me gimp and they call my built up shoes and gym shoes with 3" added to the soles and heel THE TRUCK TIRE(HAHA), but it is all in fun and I take that way. So I am sorry if you took it the wrong way, that is a funny skit and I have put that skit up and others to get some humor going on the FORUMS I belong to. Don't worry it takes some time, latter on you yourself will make fun to others about your condition and they will respect you more for it trust me, I have lived with this since it happened back in 1966. Because of my condition is why I got a Trike, to get on it I sit on it sideways and slide my right leg over the hump and pick up my left leg onto the footboard stretched out. Cannot sit with a bent knee like you would in a chair because the small of your back does not bend that much. I have to buy shoes and gym shoes that are slip on's because I cannot bend far enough to tie them. Many other things are difficult but you do the best you can. Alleyoop Sorry to hear about both your tragedy's.. I myself was shot in the back through my right upper kidney by a civilian lady with an AK47 in Kandahar...we were passing out Skittles and bottled water to the children.
