Well personally I think your going the wrong way, a #40 on a 19mm carb on a 50 WOW!! Like I said mine has 120 more ccs than yours and a #40 is to big I have a #38. Even Millsc thinks a #40 is to big and he mess's with 50s everyday and with bigger bbks than a 63cc. Alleyoop I agree and just talked to few buddies with 4T scoots....not Tao Tao but a GY6 50..is a GY6 50..they gave numbers from theirs which are 22.5-24.0.... A buddy gave me one...it is not marked but that is irrelevant as the scoot runs like a champ now.... Now I have another carb issue. I replaced the stock fuel and vac lines...they were so HARD you could not pinch them...pulling them off and putting back on the elasticity was gone. So I bought all new tubing and while I was at it I thought it would be a good time to check and clean the carb. Had it all a part...went in to eat..hyper active brat kid next door went in and played with the parts. Now missing the main jet..pilot jet and slide assembly. Main jet and slide assembly I have from an unused parts carb we had at the shop. But no pilot jet or A/F screw. A/F screw I found on Ebay super cheap. But did you know....NOBODY sells pilot jets for the TK 19mm carbs our Minarelli engines come with? I found no resource..just a bunch of blogs where guys are saying they won't buy another Yamaha because they now use the TK carb and they can't get jets. The boys mother was a real b*tch about it..but said she would pay for the parts..however what is there to pay for if they can't be found... If you or ANYBODY here has resource for them..please let me know. Also I heard a rumor that other brands work...but the 2 fella's in the forum did not know what type or brand. Somebody here must have a resource as I have read where they increased or decreased the pilot jet size on their TK carbed Minarellil....

I have also ordered from them with no issue my first bbk i bought from them and it has been on three different scooter and still running strong three years later on the third and with the same rings and piston try to get that from a ebay bbk..lol Teddy this is the part I am looking at...and wonder if it is really a High Performance Secondary Sliding Sheave as they say. Which are the ones with the straight slots in them..vice the angled stock ones that cause rpms to drop as it 'shifts' making acceleration from that point on..a real struggle for the engine... Anybody can say 'High Performance'...and many do for stock items....so I just don't know...

No that seems to big, 150s run with a #35 or maybe a #38 but a #40 is huge not even a 250cc has a 40 size pilot jet. If this is a 50cc and the pilot jet was not changed it probably has a #32 I would put in a #35 and give that a shot. A #35 pumps out a lot of fuel. I have 30 more ccs on my 150 is now a 182cc motor and It takes a #38 a #40 was to much fuel. You can verify which way to go. With the motor off turn the fuel ratio screw clockwise and count the turns it took to close. Then turn it out counter clockwise the same amount of turns and start the motor. let it warm up so the enricher cuts off the extra fuel at least 5 minutes. Then turn the screw 1/4 at a time clockwise and see at what point it kills the motor. IF the screw is all the way closed and it does not kill the motor then you know the PILOT IS TO BIG. If it kills the motor and you still have 2 turns or so left on the screw then you know the PILOT JET IS TO SMALL. Alleyoop Ok...bringing back memories a bit. Heard something similar to that when I was 16 working in a Harley shop. Harley used to make some really nice 2T rides. One of the best being their MotoCross bike...the MX250. It was monster of a ride and dominated Motocross.....then poof! I think their deal fell out with Italy and they stopped making them overnight. The shop had a dedicated Mech named Kort. I ran the parts shop...but hung out with him on repairs every second I got. I recall doing something similar with Harley Moped....the Leggerro. He would bore and stroke them for folks and make a real screaming moped. Anyway mine cuts off at about 1 3/4 turns out. So it must be small. My choices for the 19mm TK carb are #42 then #45 and I currently have a # 40. Thank gawd for 20 yo kids cause unlike we old folks...they can still see. My neighbor 1/2 mile down the road...ryan52 on here...looked and said..."Hey man..it's a 40" Smart @ss..how could he see it with a naked eye and my reading glasses would not work?... I am guessing 42 as 45 seems like a huge jump for those tiny Pilot jet orrifice's. Not sure which one.hmmm

Of course....the markings on the Pilot Jet are not legible....it appears to be stamped 40....does that seem to be in the ball park for a Minarelli 2T? Grrrr...nobody here can read the number and my gf has eyes like a Hawk....

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]Alleyoop...That may be the issue then. In my 35+ years of working on Mopeds...Scooters and Dirtbikes..can't say I ever saw this issue. Once warmed up its rocket like take off has faded quite a bit and 3/4 to full throttle is virtually non existent. It just plugs along about 10 mph slower at WOT. Going out now to check the pilot jet...since it factory stock most likely it is not marked though.... That irritates me as many Chinese products I work on...neither jet is marked.

Before you could bat an eye! And hope I was on the jury to send him away!! The rest of your statement does not need an answer. I know where I stand and if admin. lets degrading police officers go on then this forum nor any other forum needs me on it. I attended a course on community relations once and the first statement was without police there can be no society. Think about it. Nobody here is bashing ALL Officers nor you...no need to take it personally...because..well none of it is personal. Look at it this way...we Military face death on a daily basis...people bash us....and a group even protested at one my buddies funeral. I don't take it personal..nor do my Military friends. We just plug away and continue on. No matter who you are..or what you do for a living...someone is going to have issues with you. Take the Postal Service for example..a person orders scooter parts...or other items..they don't show up in the promised 3-5 day express period. What happens?....Folks verbally attack the lady that delivers the mail....and she has nothing to do with the problem. Does she take it personally? Ours doesn't...it just rolls off her back...as it should...

Thinking I have a possible Jet issue. Working on my Uncles scoot. Tao Tao cy50 t3. Put an 80BBK on it...got the tamper proof carb bowl screws out and put in a # jet. Speed and power are awesome...runs like a champ and will GPS up to 46-47 mph. Once it runs a minute or two...warms up and I assume the enricher kicks off. Power and speed are down where as it will only hit about 39mph. Raised the needle one notch..still the same....raised it all the way...still the same. So my assumption since it runs best with the enricher on...is that the extra fuel it provides is telling me it needs a bigger jet?... Any ideas or suggestions?... Thanks, Glenn....aka Yayiima benatigee

Just curious if anybody has ever ordered from Scooter Domain...and if they are reputable? I am trying to find a performance Sliding Sheave for my Jonway Hornet with a Minarelli engine. They have one they call performance...at a great price. Where as all other sites I could find one on(which a Minarelli performance sheave is nearly impossible to find it seems) I only found 2 sites after 2 hours searching..and they wanted $115.00 and $134.00 for the sheave alone. My wallet can't handle that this month and I am tired of the stock one in how they 'shift' 0-30 is right now!...then it 'shifts' causing rpm's to drop way low where it falls out of the power band...so 30-50 sux. It will easily hit 56mph via GPS...BUT even as little as a 10 mph wind and 45mph is doing good as I listen to the low rpms as the engine fights to accelerate. Which we all know 2T's are not known for torque like the GY6 50-150cc engines are....instead they rely on rpm. If anyone has a resource for performance sheave it would be very appreciated. Just not the $100.00+ dollar ones. My gf would hit the ceiling and I would hear about it for..ohh...about the next 10 years or so..

Fill that gap with a piece of pipe....then as oldchopperguy said....use a long bolt. But DO NOT let it just hang like that..pipe will crack and burn your exhaust valve! Also you MUST support the muffler itself....here is a pic on how I made one for my gf scoot. Cost me $3.75 for the piece of 1/2"X3/4" aluminum angle stock. Look closely at pic. It has lasted her going on 4 years now... The arrows in the pic show the 2 pieces of angle stock I used. Took 30 mins to make....super easy.. Attachments:

My belief is if the violator is a police officer the penalty should be double. Because he not only violated the law but a trust also. That is all I have to say you all have a good life. I agree....but please do not depart the site over the actions of other LEO's we discuss. If you leave this site...you are taking on their bad behavior....when you were not responsible...never did it...and were an outstanding LEO. There are folks here that don't care for Military...yet I stay...cause as I see it....had it not been for me protecting their freedom for 21 years...they would not have a PC...allowed internet or even a chat board to discuss scooters. So don't pack it up and give in Officer..hang tight and be proud... Btw..we have not heard about your scoot...so what ya got...do tell..post a pic even..

I had a cousin that was a habitual offender, lost his license, then got arrested for DUI on a tractor...on the way to the local store to get another six pack of beer! Some people never learn...and are so addicted to alcohol, that nothing will get their attention. Well, almost nothing. He developed stomach cancer and then had no choice but to stop drinking, but died a very miserable death. Drinking and driving just don't mix...especially on two wheels! AGREED! I have taken care of patients that died from it....liver shut down and they spent a miserable and painful week dying from it. He got one on a tractor huh? Same happens here...in fact in Michigan you can get a DUI on your Snowmobile...Jet Ski....Sail Boat...John Boat with a lil 3hp or so engine on it...Yacht....Lawn Tractor..Motorized Bicycle..Golf Cart if on the roadway and many others. My problem with DUI is...Ok..so you don't care about...your choice...but what about other innocent folks?

Do not judge the police until you have walked a mile in his shoes. I hope people understand that they are only hearing one side of the story. there is an old saying "do not believe anything you hear and only 1/2 of what you see." I wonder how many of you have the guts to try to be a police officer and hear this garbage every day of your life. The goal of every police officer is to go home tonight. Maybe you should look into the mirror to see why you are getting treated the way you are. If you come across as a smart grab hold you will be treated as a smart . I spent 31 years out there as A Texas State Trooper and AM DAMN PROUD OF IT. Now if I do not belong on this forum let me know and I will get off. No guts?..lol..I spent 21 years as a Combat Medic for the USMC. Retired now. Took a bullet to my back which destroyed the the top half of my right kidney. I am NOT saying all LEO's are bad..and I am sure you were an excellent one. In fact if you read one of my above posts I say that while active duty I have been in nearly all 50 states for some type of training or other. I made note..a very positive note...that in the Southern states I saw that the LEO were outstanding....very fair and treated everyone with respect. Have I walked a mile in your shoes?....No...have you walked a mile n mine?..No. Law Enforcement just like any job has its good...professional and outstanding employees...as well as its share of not so great employees. Why would you not belong on this forum? It would be bad to see you go. We are just voicing our experiences....NONE of which you were part of or responsible for. ...k?... While you served I am sure you met a few corrupt...crude...or non conforming Officers that you just wanted to bust in the chops. We have employees like that at the Hospital. They put the patient second as they play music and text on their cell phones. When they do interact with a patient...their attitude and behavior is extremely poor. To the point I frequently say to them.."Hey...what if that was your mother in there...would you be the same?....One day it could be her..would you want the staff to treat her the same way?...Also...not only is that lady another human...she is also somebody's mother" So please stay a member of the forum..do not take it personal..cause as I said....you were no part of it. There are good and bad people in all walks of life....just as we have poor Cardiac Techs....that does not make me one...no more than 3 crude and corrupt local LEO's makes you one...

...then get pulled over every other day, or have some meth planted on you. No, bad idea. BINGO! You read my mind...and what said is what I fear. Now here is what I don't get...these back country roads are riddled with Meth labs...once a week our volunteer fire Dept puts out one of their house fires. When driving down the back roads you can smell it 200-300 yards before you see a house. It has to me anyway...a strong ammonia smell sort of...I say it smells like an old dirty cat litter box on fire. Now if they can get a car for failure to use a turn signal...tail light out...or 4-5 mph over the limit. How is it that only we town folks can smell the houses that cook the stuff? Luckily there are no gun crimes....murder or violence over it like the big cities have. BUT we DON"T want it here and have even taken it to the state level. Know what the solution was? Entering and leaving town...we now have signs that say..."Warning this is part of Michigans Meth Watch Program". Which is true...cause it seems all they do is watch...avoid the back roads where it is...hang out in town and stop ALL scooters(They don't even know the scooter laws and regs...but that is another story) So they hang out in town and cite residents for even the tiniest infraction. We did have 3 locals charged with Arson for torching 3 diff Meth labs..cause they were reported many times...and not ONE LEO ever went there. So the 3 older guys from our VFW had enough...torched the places..which after the fire was out...were found to be massive Meth labs. But of course they were charged with Arson. We are in the perfect area for it as it is all farmers that use Anhydrous Ammonia..for who knows what...can't say. I was raised on a farm and we never used it. But their 100-200 gallon tank trailers of it get stolen all the time. From what I understand it is used to make the product. What confuses me is where do they get the pseudo-fed? The local drug store makes you sign a state document to get it...you only get 1 pack of 20 and can only get it every 60 days. That law is state wide in Michigan. They must be getting it from Canada?. All I know is they need to go after them first...before they stop me for no helmet on my 50cc scooter..where I have to reach under my seat and show them the printed out laws and regulations from the DMV site..

i agree with all that was said by marshall dillion and have thought of filing a complaint but i live in a small city and knowing how the cops here are i believe it will make things worst as they will start harassing ever time they see me Same here..small town. Took it to the town council and now harassed every time they see me. Be careful..ya won't win. You gotta remember the ticket money they collect....goes to the town and town council. You are NOT a citizen or resident....you are merely a source of revenue...
