About every week here at my store in Puerto Rico i get at least 1-2 customers weekly that come in needing new body parts for their scooters because they say they were riding around drunk. Why would you ride a scooter drunk? I have had one customer come in and say he hit a car so hard that he cracked the transmission fluid pan of the car because he was drunk. Just right now had a customer come in saying he needed a new front end because he crashed his scooter while he was drunk this last Saturday night. why would anyone drink and ride a scooter?

most of them yes but i do get older people in also. Legal drinking age here is 18 but no bar in my town checks ID. I was once at burger king at about 11pm and i saw one of my customers in there and he said hi. I asked him what he was doing he said he was at the bar down the street drinking. HE IS 14 years old.

Simple: THEY ARE FRIGGING MORONS! At least they will only kill themselves on a scooter.

Refuse to service their bikes? You must have enough of a customer base to sack them off.

Good for you! Keeps you in business! That'll teach them! First they lose money on booze, then they have an accident, with all the painful after effects, then they pay medical bills (sometimes), and scoot bills, then they go out again, and start drinking and riding again! Keeps the money flowing!

Walter it should not surprise you that people here drink and drive anything. I dont think i know 1 person (going out on a limb here) that is not an alcoholic here. Beer is so cheap and unless you are in Mayaguez, Ponce or San Juan cops dont really care. All you have to do is avoid the flashing lights at night and your ok. If they had a warrant system in place here it would be soooo different.

www.nhtsa.gov/people/outreach/traftech/1995/TT094.htm About one fifth of the decisions to drink and drive come from within the individual. These Personal Influences ranged from drinkers' need for relaxation to the desire to "get wasted." Often, the desire to maintain whatever feeling had already been achieved influenced decisions to keep on drinking. One of the chief influences upon the decision to drive impaired was simply a person's failure to recognize or admit that they were under the influence of alcohol.

Can't afford bars and its cheaper to have a drink at home so it never will happen here. Was raised in a traditional Italian home where wine and liquor was consumed but was not allowed to become our master.
Booze and personal luxuries were something you only got after all the needs of the family were taken care of not before you took care of them or as a salve to make yourself feel better because you didn't take care of the fam.

Man, everybody drinks down Island. I've ridden drunk and it anit easy. Cops can see you a mile away. It's the great equalizer. You do often and you won't do it long. Smash Bang Boom. LOL.
