Now that I think about it why didnt I just wire up the existing led driving lights to the flashing setup? Will it work? I would check local laws first...it may be illegal. In many states flashing lights..alternating or strobing lights are illegal because it is indicative of an Emergency Vehicle.

[replyingto=metrodee]metrodee[/replyingto]Somewhere on youtube there is a vid on the CY50-T3 where a bunch of them came with warped rims....wish I could find it again. Anyway the rims were warped and you could see them wobble in the vid. Apparently the rims are cast..and the company being in a rush to assemble and fill orders...removed them from the mold too soon causing warpage.

Well..hard to say..not all scoots are the same. Not familiar with the model ya have as most scoots in Michigan are 50cc. Typically you gotta go slow and figure it out. Best way is..if you can remove the seat and seat bucket first....you can look inside the scoot and see how each one comes off. Just be careful..the plastic tabs on all the scoots...tend to break off super easy..

[replyingto=scooter12]scooter12[/replyingto]To be honest...I think it sux. I get a paycheck..that gets taxed..I invest some of it...that gets taxed...I take the money out..it becomes an income..so it is taxed again...then I take that same money and buy more tools for my shop..and that gets taxed. All that money we give them and they are still broke and have a deficit...we ourselves can't live on a deficit. Btw these are the same people that tell us the economy is tight and WE should learn to spend properly to avoid not making OUR ends meet. huh?? So to answer your question...NO..we give them enough money. We GIVE 7 Billion dollars to Brazil to build an Aquarium..and my Grand Kids have to sell baked home goods in front of stores....collect cans and bottles from the roadside( 10 cent deposit on them here in Michigan) and hold Car Washes for donations...just to buy their Soccer uniforms and equipment. Now what the is wrong with this picture?

What alleyoop said. It cleans very well. I occasionally use it in my tank...but works great to soak carbs in for a deep cleaning. The Xylene is use to increase my octane is also a paint remover and will even remove epoxy. So it also keeps the carb super clean. The Xylene I use to make my 'NASCAR' fuel not only has an ultra high octane...it also has a higher BTU than gasoline. So it does 3 things...keeps the carb clean...ups the octane(no more ping from pump gas) and the extra BTU's give me a bit more power. Oh...4 things...last one is...it smells good when it burns...like a day at the drag strip...NASCAR Race...or Kyle Petty's exhaust pipe... ;D I figure if it's good enough for NASCAR...it's good enough for me...plus cheaper than Toluene.....and easier to find...as hardware and paint stores sell it. To answer the question before it is asked...YES...my 2T screamin demon scoot burns a mix of gas and paint remover. ;D I love it when folks smell my scoot and say.."Are you buying TORCO Gas from the speedway down the road?"..and I say..nope...I am making it at home..

[replyingto=redroush00]redroush00[/replyingto]I take it you bought a Tao Tao CY50-T3?... Or the Roketa Maui NOS? What scoot do you have...as some are short case engines..some are long case. That determines what size tire you can go up to.

Even my Jonway Hornet feels unstable with its huge 130/70-12 tires at 60....and I can almost guarantee it is THE heaviest 2T made. Built like a Kenworth! Hard to get on the center stand due to the weight. It sucks cause if it was lighter you could have faster acceleration etc. I have worked on and ridden many ATM Tao Tao's and I doubt it's your frame..they unlike many Chinese scoots are solid with larger frame tubing. I am with Kevin on this one...in that the tires are not high speed rated or balanced. Most scoots tires are so out of balance if I rev them on the center stand..the back tires hop and wobble so bad...the scoot dances 1/2 way across the shop. A kid in the next town overs father..owns a tire shop there. He was able to balance the boys tires with stick on weights. I was blown away when I rode it..cause even at 35mph you can feel the poor tire balance. His was riding smooth as silk. His dad said they held each tire on its axle...spun it 5 times..and marked on the bottom where it stopped..then added about 1/2 ounce stick on weights between all 5 marks. One weight that is.. like this...marks > || | ||. The weight went in the middle of those marks. Kinda 'Shade Tree' to me..but it seemed to work...

> I don't see CVK..Keihin or Mikuni carbs on Harley Davidsons...but we have them on our rides. So does that mean ours don't work either. Look again... My Harley came from the factory with a Keihin CVK 40mm carb. The Mikuni HSR42, HSR45 carbs are installed by some Harley engine tuners. Showa forks, and Brembo disc brakes are original equipment on my china scooter and Harley also. Ok..true my bad on Keihin for Harleys..mine came with Dellorto's and as a teen I worked in a Harley shop at the parts counter...and many came with Tillotson..or as we called them. 'Toilet Son' cause it seemed anytime the weather changed...they had tinker with the carb to get it to run right. So they ended up buying Dellorto's. As you mentioned many of the parts now are Chinese on them. BUT Showa makes good Motocross forks...so they gotta also make good Hawg forks. What I was getting at with him..is that the air from driving does not cool the engine better...because the engine is encased in a plastic shroud..so the cooling comes from what can enter the fan. Btw..very few know or will admit that MANY Harley parts are now made in China. My wholesaler told me she has a contract with 2 factories over there that she gets Harley parts from..

Reserve was a great buddy on my mopeds with no gas gauge Kevin...I have a gas gauge and the whole dash panel. Scoot is like new..no scratches no missing pieces...like the instrument panel etc...that is not why I cannot see how much gas or how fast I am going...it's those useless 10w GE 194'Super Bright' bulbs that only glow a faint orange color. Not enough to illuminate my dash. Sad part is..one of the bulbs was a cheapie I got a yard sale in a package written in Spanish.. It said "Hecho in Mexico"..made in Mexico.. The glass part itself was poorly blown glass as it is crooked and 'lumpy' looking. BUT it is twice as bright as the GE 'Super Bright' 194's..

Doesnt the moving air cool the engine when riding? Seems like the fan does more cooling when stopped. Its not like ram air that you can cram somewhere. When I look at damn near every scooter out there the fan housing is recessed below the body panel lines which tells me that the cooling effect of the fan itself is really at idle and not moving? I like it for a cool appearance mod though. At idle the air can get into the fan easier yes. But think about this..at 30 mph(none of mine go that slow..if it won't hit 50..I won't ride it ;D ) But at 30 mph or faster...the air flow is parallel to the fan...and with the body panels blocking the fan it is harder for airflow to get in. So to have as you say..cooling at idle...would it not be better to have cooling when the engine is working hard and under a load while riding? Read the posts above...those of use that have used them...like them and the engine does run cooler...and a cooler engine does last longer correct? Most 60's and 70's 'Muscle Cars' did not come with hood scoops..but folks put them on cause..1.They look cool..and 2. They worked...
