I'm also looking at Avon viper strykes, they seem to be a decent tire for only 47. $, I might be able to swing the 113$ and just get Pirellis front and back.

[replyingto=doublert]doublert[/replyingto]Reckon I could put a Pirelli on the back, and something cheaper on the front? Or do they need to both be the same?

Going to order some tires this week, 130-60-13, The Kendas price look good for my budget, I keep reading about the Pirelli SL26, How it has such a great ride, but they do cost more. All I've ever had on my scoot is the stock Cheng crap tires, so I don't know how other better quality tires ride or feel.....Would the Kenda tires do me good or should I spend more and get the Pirelli SL26 tires?
Thanks to everyone!! Randy

I was reading on the old forum that a guy went a size or two up, and he gained like 3mph...Has anybody tried this from experience? I don't mind paying extra for larger back tire. My wheels are 13", tire size 130-60-13. Is there a size that could make this possible?

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]Hey, thanks for all you guys help. When it comes to mechanics, im fairly decent with a wrench, a gy6 150 scoot stuff is different from my 1992 Mustang 5.0 convertible that runs mid 12's in the 1/4 mile. I've just been trying to learn everything I can about my scoot along the way. My local scooter repair guy told me today that the NCY 30mm intake is causing my take off sputtering problem, I'm sure its causing the air in there not to move smoothly, when we put it on we didn't port match anything or use a dremel either. He said if I put my stock intake back on, it will most likely cure my sputter problem. I didn't mean to cause any arguments. Alley, and the rest of you guys, I really appreciate you helping me and the others out. I'm still learning...Hey, at least I know how to do all my CVT work, and belt and stuff....

Couldn't you just use that sock that you were using before? At least temporarily?

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I think that intake is too big, and I don't think when my friend put it on, sized it up to match the ports. When we put it on, it was extremely tight, and right near touching the cross mount thing.
When I give it throttle too take off, it sputters a bit, once it starts moving about 2-5mph it smoothes out, and when I hit the throttle a little harder on take offs, it doesnt sputter. Thats why I thought it may need upjetting, plus having the filter and exhaust.

You should find out what's in there and the look for something smaller Just wondering, why would I need something smaller with all that stuff I have done to it, Filter, exhaust, etc. I've been trying to look at everybody elses mods and performance parts to figure out what kind of jetting I need to do...

I think I need to rejet my carb. and just want some input or advice from everyone. All the upgrades and performance mods are in my sig. below including 26mm ebay carb. (not sure what jet is in it), stock air box removed, K&N type filter on 6inches of radiator hose to carb, Two Brothers racing exhaust, 30mm NCY intake polished, NGK iridium plug, etc. I checked my plug the other night and it was black. Anyone have any suggestions which Jet? Or should I just get a kit of 5 off Ebay ranging from 105 to 125? Thanks to All!!!

[replyingto=lykos23]lykos23[/replyingto]Dang man, sounds like you need some new friends? You said they all want to charge you 10$ for a ride? That's ridiculous!! I have friends that would drive me 18 miles to the nearest beer store, and all they asked for was a few cold ones. Remember that song "You find out who your friends are" ? Real sorry that you had so much trouble, I had my NCY 15*36 gears put in a few weeks ago, which was not as easy as I thought, Thanks to that 75 pound industrial vise I bought for 50$ 4 years ago, it could have been a lot more trouble. Hope you get your scoot rolling soon!!

[replyingto=hank]hank[/replyingto]You don't have to spend a lot of money when it comes to stuff like that! Heres what I did, go to a CVS or drugstore, and get a bottle of mineral baby oil, yes the kind you wipe on babies butts, LOL. A lot of people don't know that it can be used for a lot of things such as: tire shine, plastic protectant, (I use it on my ATV after a clean wash and dry, keeps plastics looking new), I first used baby oil for guitar string cleaning, makes my strings sound brand new everytime, for the past 3 ATV's I have used it on all of my UNI Filters, Plastics, Fenders, and the big mud tires that were on them. And the best thing of all, It is very cheap, and smells good! I got some spray bottles and filled them all up, saves me lots of money.... Maybe it could benefit, and help everybody else save some dough?

Ok, figured that out, scooterelements, and monstergy6, didn't see any gear kits on either sites, but I did find them on ebay, now I'm not sure which ratio to get, looking at the NCY kit. Any suggestions would be great, Thanks to all!
