Going to order some tires this week, 130-60-13, The Kendas price look good for my budget, I keep reading about the Pirelli SL26, How it has such a great ride, but they do cost more. All I've ever had on my scoot is the stock Cheng crap tires, so I don't know how other better quality tires ride or feel.....Would the Kenda tires do me good or should I spend more and get the Pirelli SL26 tires?
Thanks to everyone!! Randy

I love my SL26 pirelli tires. Compared to the stock chinese ones, well there is no comparison, the pirellis are in a league of their own compared to that stock chinese junk haha. Never used a Kenda before, so I can't help you with a comparison...

[replyingto=doublert]doublert[/replyingto]Reckon I could put a Pirelli on the back, and something cheaper on the front? Or do they need to both be the same?

I would do the reverse if you can't afford both, The front tire is responsible for steering, and most of your braking, Kinda like putting your best foot forward LOL..

Both of my trikes came with kenda tires on them. The rear tires on my trikes are actually trailer tires, so I can't give you a true analogy of a scooter tire. I haven't had any problem with the front tires. So far the wear is good, but a trike steers and handles differently than a two wheeler. When it comes time to change them I will probably look at a higher quality tire.

what is the price difference? i can't imagine it being too much more for the Pirelli SL26 and you won't be disappointed. i ordered 2 last week and planned on changing both over the weekend but the rear tire was more difficult than i anticipated so the front still needs to be changed but the tread is still good on that tire so whatever. i'll get to it eventually... it does ride much smoother on just the one rear pirelli.

I'm also looking at Avon viper strykes, they seem to be a decent tire for only 47. $, I might be able to swing the 113$ and just get Pirellis front and back.

I got kenda tires. I think I can feal the bike slip a lil when I lean in to a curve. Still trying to zero in on the issue tho.

I have Kenda for a rear tire. Never had a "real" tire on my scoot, but I don't drive crazy in the rain/snow. I haven't wiped out yet, not to brag by any means. I don't slam on my brakes in crappy conditions, nor lean much. It gets the job done for me. I really plan on buying a better quality tire(s) next time just to see the difference.

Don't skimp in tires get the Pirellis or look even at Michelin City Grips. A little extra money now might save you a trip to the hospital later

I have Kenda tires on my scooter. They handle just fine, hold up through the twisties great. Lean my scooter down low through turns without thinking twice.
