i have taken my 150cc on the highway a few times. only mod is a 115mm variator. speedometer read 73mph but its about 18% optimistic, actual top speed is close to 60mph. 18% wow. How did you determine it's that far off? GPS?the digital speed signs clock me at 45 while my speedo reads 55 and 35 when my scoot shows about 43. both figures are off by about 18% so i assume it's always 18% optimistic.

guess i'm the only one that is annoyed by this new feature. believe me... if you ever get directly in front of that light then you'll understand. for those who haven't had the pleasure... equivalent of looking into the sun.

i was at the poker table and some moron across from me was playing with his phone when he got an incoming text or call. instead of the normal ring tone or vibrate it flashes a blinding led light. needless to say i gave him an ear full. next time i may accidentally on purpose knock your phone to the ground. what the heck kind a stupid feature is that! and why is anyone using it while pointing at another!!!

Yes but alot of folks upload HD video and it plays fine in original def. Whats the trick? The Goog isn't helping much. Even my photographer roomie is clueless. He uploads his 4k gopro videos just fine. as alley said i would think they down grade your vids to save bandwidth. i also would assume they don't treat every account the same. that's my guess.

I was tempted to get a Jonway scoot as well. I see em advertised all over the internet and there are several dealers in my local area that carry em. I was nervous to get one because I've heard so much negative stuff about Chinese scooters. I've also learned in my research on the web that Chinese scooter manufacturers are starting to build their stuff a bit better than in the recent past. I've always lived by the idea that you get what you pay for. So if you get a Jonway scooter I'd be really curious to see how it does for you. it might be true that china is building better quality scoots but i think it mostly depends how well you take care of it. make certain your scoot isn't running lean (change main jet if needed) and change the fluids on a strict schedule. your china scoot will run for years with a little TLC..

Well I took it out for a spin. Took some steep corners and then rode up into the driveway at a good clip. NO SCRAPE! Ha! Take that! I call that KUNG FU fixin! LOL! Now I just gotta make sure I don't lose the center stand piece for when I need it. nice job! i would put it under the seat or another storage compartment. that way you will always have it when you need it.

One of the tables on the website shows my toll would be $18 round trip. you take that route 5 days a week? i'd avoid that ridiculous tax/fee if at all possible. heck i would move to save $ /wk. as for the 250cc jonway i have no personal experience with the 250. i do have a 2012 150cc jonway with 13,400km. i've had very few problems. i'd definitely buy another.

FINALLY! My new scooter is registered and no longer has a naked fanny. One thing that surprised me, they charged me local sales tax, even though it was purchased from a different state. Think I may call the Dept of Taxation on Tuesday and argue with them a bit. $1404 x 8.1% = $113.72 in taxes that I don't believe should be collected by the local tax dept, since it wasn't purchased in state. fairly certain it is the same in every state. I know they hit me with the slave tax... err sales tax when i registered my 150cc ordered from CA.

good info. i never thought about just replacing the wire. too bad i cut into mine, think i will have to replace the whole cable. i'm gonna check the local scooter shop and see if they have one before i order. i'd rather get this thing back on the road a.s.a.p.

meh, think i will wait to order tomorrow. i'll remove it to get an accurate measurement. can't seem to find the info online and they have so many different sizes. i don't want to make the mistake of getting one too short.

what info do i need to order a new one? will i need to remove it to get length before i order or are all 150cc throttle cables the same length?
i was on my way to work when the throttle suddenly stuck. had to quickly hit the kill switch to avoid slamming into the vehicle in front of me. about a week ago it did the same thing. thought it was from dirt or a worn out spring. attempted to lube it the quick easy way with wd40 (not the best way). well seemed to help at the moment but apparently the cable was frayed coming completely apart today.
here is how i rigged it to get the scoot back home. loosened the nut near the handle bar then pulled the cable out. near the carb i attempted to cut the cable but my wire cutters were too dull. i cut through the plastic exposing the wire and giving me a notch to tie the loose wire too. using my dull wire cutters and utility knife i struggled to cut the cable near the handle bars then tied one end to the throttle cable near the carb. threaded the wire around the rear shock tied a loop at the end and slipped it over my thumb.
don't really want to ride around like that for too long but it does work fairly well.
