last year i sold a running 2011 Tao Tao atm50 with 15,000km for $300. Maybe i could have held out for more cash but i doubt it. you can get a new atm50 delivered for $700 if i'm not mistaken. i wouldn't buy it but then again i'm lazy and wouldn't want to do all the work. if you can get it cheap... much cheaper, say $75 or so then i would think you could make a small profit if you don't mind the work. (assuming everything is there obviously)
edit: i see in his ad he thinks it doesn't have spark. if you really interested then i would talk to him and find out exactly what he has done to the scoot. also that conversation will help determine his level of expertise which could help you determine how hard it will be to fix. and lastly if he seems knowledgeable i wouldn't touch it if you have limited electrical skills.

Only problem i have right now is traffic lights, has anyone figured out how to trigger sensor based lights on a scooter? this site was very helpful for me: modernvespa.com/forum/wiki-trafficsignalsoccasionally i can't find the correct spot to trigger a light and if thier isn't another vehicle around then i will do a michigan left (either turn right or go straight and then do a U-turn).

Who is the other vender? I'm always looking for other reliable sources. I have found powersportsmax.com to be alright. Shipping is sometimes slow since they are in CA. But they have a lot of hard to find parts for Chinese scooters and atvs. www.powersportsmax.com/index_parts.phpdmartin95 beat me to it. i don't know why they no longer have a banner here.

Its unfortunate because they run ads here and I like to support the people that support the board, but I absolutely HATE bad customer service. i've ordered a few parts from them and much like you have taken my business elsewhere. scrappy has gotten too big to care imo. tvnacman has sent me a new part when i discovered a minor imperfection. was going to mention one other vendor but seems they don't advertise here anymore.

I'm doing around 40 miles Filling the tank every other day. i've averaged 42km or 26 miles per day over the last year but lately i'm putting on nearly as many miles as you. i wish i had a bigger tank, it gets old going to the gas station for 1 gallon every other day.

i've pulled over countless times when a cager is blinding everyone on the road with those super bright blue led lights. if they are behind me i can't see to change lanes and if they are on the other side of the road coming toward me i can't see anything. they really should outlaw the bright blue led headlights.

kids i presume, they shouldn't be allowed in public unsupervised. anybody with half a brain wouldn't attempt to steal a scooter.

Probably going to be a little bit before I can ride tho, in the past day my shoulder has developed a bruise and I can barley move it without pain. Realized that when I went down hit my hands and knees, then my right shoulder, onto my back where I slid. So has been a fun day to say the least. lol you lived to tell about it, that's a good day! i'm still not 100% from going down last August on wet pavement. if i had more safety gear i would probably be fine. knee pads would have been helpful. if i had less gear, say no helmet, i might not be here to tell the story since my head hit the curb. i can walk without a limp but stairs are still difficult. hope you completely recover, it will take some time.

Seeing as we have gone through a lot and still will not start. At this point I suspect it may be out of time. So take off the valve cover line up the cam sprocket with the TWO little holes even with the head. And then Take a Picture of it aligned so we can see that your doing it correct and no questions asked THEN move down to the Flywheel and take a Picture of the Flywheel and where the timing mark on the case is pointing to on the flywheel. Other than that at this point I cannot thing of anything else that we have not gone through. Alleyoop like these pictures: it's difficult to tell from the angle you took the picture but i think alley was right. i don't see any markings on the flywheel. i would take another pic with a better angle to be certain but i think you will have to loosen the head and rotate the engine. edit: i blew up my screen and could see the markings. it does appear to be off a little but not that much so i don't know if that is the problem. Alley will have to give his expert advice when he sees it.

i can remember a year ago i installed a bbk on my atm50. also installed a new carb at the same time and couldn't get it to start. when we make too many changes at once it can be difficult to trouble shoot.
my problem was so simple and stupid it made me LOL when i discovered what i did. i forgot to take the plastic cover off the carb. oops, dang thing couldn't get any air. recheck every new part you recently installed.

Learn to shift in the seat to lean your body more and the bike less... you beat me to it. i've scraped the road with my center stand a few times but never the cvt cover. shifting your body will let you take those sharp turns without sparking the pavement.
