I'm with you BadCattitude....Don't ride after dark....maybe alright on a familiar road, but never on a strange stretch after dark. Made my living driving at night for 39 years.....now retired....and spend nights asleep.
On my scoot, or motorcycle, I get all the excitement I want each fall, when the walnut trees drop their fruit all over the roads..

Yep, Gates to replace whatever was stock. I'm very glad I didn't bust the stock one with so many miles on it. Giving my big nephew a few rides during the heat of the Vegas summer didn't help too much either I imagine! I don't believe a belt should have to be replaced as often as you stated. Of course overloading your scooter, and Vegas temperatures will shorten a belt's life....but a 1500 mile change interval still doesn't sound right to me. I would think that something else was going on under your cvt cover, to necessitate a belt change that often. My Jonway 150 will be getting a new belt before this years scooter season starts. The original was replaced with a Gates Powerlink on July 28, 2012.....since then it has run 4805 miles, and I'm certain is worn, but it doesn't showing signs of coming apart. I'm not as big as your nephew, but close....and I do live in hilly country, so my belt is worked pretty hard...and I expect to get 5000 miles from them.. PS: Really like your new scooter....it's a beauty

It's kinda sad that this scooter's life was so short. After spending all that money, on so many performance parts, to only last a year and 4 months, is down right pitiful.

No head gasket....for real? Guess that explains the lack of compression. It is rather odd that a scooter with only 1700km, would already have had it's head pulled at least twice. Wonder why it was off the first time, and then reassembled without a head gasket. Think you may have to talk to the person you got it from to find out what gives.

When did you adjust the valves last? With just 1050 miles, this scooter isn't fully broken in yet, let alone worn out. Something tells me, it has never had a PDI done on it. You can find lots of help with procedures (tune ups etc.) in other parts of this forum.

There is really nothing wrong with these systems, where the pump is higher than the tank...... if you have a good vacuum source, good hoses, tight connections, and unrestricted fuel lines.
My scoot is one of those with the tank under your feet, pump up high on the frame, and has worked just fine so far (5,800 miles...3 years old next March) My 10 year old Cub Cadet Mower has the same kinda fuel system, vac operated, tank lower than pump and carb, a fuel filter and almost 5' of hose between the pump and tank......have never had a single problem with it.......engine hour meter reads 1,006 hrs....that's equal to 25,000 miles or more of scooting. So as I said before, I see nothing wrong with this design.....if yours isn't working, you have a faulty component, or bad connection somewhere.

The best penetrating oil I have ever found is called PB BLASTER , got it out of a parts store somewhere in the States on one of my trips. Gods gift to rusty bolts +1 on the PB Blaster....have used it for years Now about your screen name nakedguy......can't you change it to something less disturbing.....at least tell us you're not, while riding the scoot

Well, being a baby boomer, and having made a living driving commercial vehicles from 1971 to 2010, I have certainly noticed the difference that cooler intake air makes, on power output. I think it is more noticeable as engine size decreases. In the late 70's, I had a VW Diesel, that produced all of 48hp....but on a 45*, foggy night, it ran as if someone had added a turbo. For me, this year's scooter season ended on 11/11/14....and my signature shows this year's fuel numbers. What it doesn't show is that the last 2 tankfuls, (Oct 23rd to Nov 11th) delivered the best milage of the season... .47mpg. Cooler atr temps equal more power and a much more efficient engine.

Your scooter is overloaded, check your data plate for allowable weight, and I bet your tire is way under inflated to boot.
As a side note....risk takers on two wheeled vehicles = big problems.....hope you come to realize this before it's to late.

My Burgman went into storage Saturday. I'm with you.....my last ride for the year, (44 miles) was on Veterans day.....added stabilizer, and topped off the fuel tank. Now, all three of my 2 wheelers will be staying indoors until late Apr or early May.

What makes you think that your tank is empty, when you can only get .6 of a galllon in it.....your fuel gauge? Fuel gauges don't always tell the truth. I would suggest, that the next time you think it's empty, insert a siphon hose and remove the remaining fuel to see how much is actually left in the tank. I bet you'll find you are only half empty, and that's why it's only taking .6 of a gallon to fill it. Don't think any manufacturer would put a sub one gallon tank on their scooters.

I installed Dynabeads in my scooter tires when it had just miles on the clock. Used a 6" C-clamp to break the bead, inserted a short piece of hose in the space right near the clamp, and poured the beads through a funnel, and into the hose. Pulled the hose out, removed the C-clamp, and pumped the tire up. Did this with tires/wheels on the scooter. 3000 miles later, picked up a nail with rear tire. Purchased a new one...removed beads from original tire, and put them in the new one. Fast forward 2300 more miles....rear tire is nearly bald...evenly worn, but shot (damn Kenda) Time to replace it again. After breaking the beads, and removing one side of tire from rim, I used a teaspoon to extract the Dynabeads, and put them in a small container. They still look fine, not all clumped up, or reduced to powder. Didn't put them into the last tire I purchased, thought I would try running without them....see if I get any strange vibs, or bouncing......400+ miles, and so far so good. I have saved and will re-use the Dynabeads at a later date Point is...I have run these in two tires, and they look as they did when I bought them, back in April 2012....hillbillybob

You are not going to break in an engine in 400 miles. My scooter took about 2000 miles to fully breakin. I know this because it wasn't until the 2500 mile oil change, that the filter screen came out absolutely clean and free on any tiny bits of anything. The 5 oil changes prior to that one, all had a little crap caught by the screen.
Your profile doesn't include your location.....but as mentioned above, crankcase gases do contain a lot more condensation as the outside air temps drop....this could be part of your problem, also, as rpm's go higher, blow by gases increase.
I have a catch can installed in my vent hose, so I can monitor amount and contents of gases being expelled. Last time removed for empting, it contained .45 ounces, after 1200 miles. Three or four drops of oil, and a lot of watery stuff.....looked a lot like yours. That was at 3750 miles, now at 5650, and time to check it again.
Might suggest easy rather than semi-easy first few hundred miles, and no synthetics, just a name brand 10w/40 or my choice, a 15w/40. This is all just an old fart's opinion, but I bought my first new engine in 1965.....I own and maintain 10 engines at the present time, gas and diesel.....none of which have any issues..... hillbillybob
