Hi my brakes hold no pressure and my nipple is leaking just wondering if anybody could help me find what size it is thanks
Looks to be M8 or M10. Take another pic with the tape rotated * in relation to the threads or put calipers on the threaded part.

When i install the studs, should i use never seize? I have two nuts i can use to screw the stud in with. What do you do when you install studs? I usually use the copper based anti-seize on mine. But my exhaust studs are modified a little bit, see link itistheride.boards.net/thread/6971/fix-stripped-hole-pics

There's a venting problem ,,,,thats air rushing into the tank,,,,,,take a very small drill and drill the cap ,,,, problem solved,,, happy day Luckily I have a plethora of Drill bits . Anyways I drilled a hole last night. Rode my scooter to work this morning and it didn't die! Woo Hoo! However it could be a fluke, but I have a feeling this has helped. I will have to see if I get the same results tmrw. This is a common problem on Taotao bikes, crap tank caps. My lancer wouldn't even run for 30 seconds before it was fuel starved when i got it.

I actually put the old pad over the caliper and compressed it with a clamp. I don't understand how you cannot get the clamp on ? You removed the assembly from the shocks right ? If you can see it is fully covered both sides and cannot fit a c clamp between two thin pieces of sheet metal and a screwdriver might fit. Just need something to keep from marring the pistons.

Have you tried spraying them with a little brake cleaner then PB blaster or WD40. That way they would be cleaned and lubed. Then attached a small hose to the bleeder valve and open the bleeder. The hose will help prevent a mess, and opening the valve will relief the fluid's pressure. Now the Pistons should move with either the clamp method. Or using the old pad to push/pull the piston open. seconded. Clean and lube and try again.

Put the right amount of oil in it, put a small amount down the spark plug hole to get it to crank over again and see if lack of oil is the problem. This is not a cure if the rings are fouled but it will make it drivable for a little while. The proper fix would be new rings or cylinder or both depending upon condition. Thanks. I already had put oil in the case before I put some in the cylinder. It seems pretty certain that the carb is working and that it has spark. I'm going to do a leakdown test on it next and see if I can locate the source of the problem. That may tell me whether it's a valve problem or a cylinder/ring problem. Good plan. Keep up the updates.

Step 1 remove caliper. step 2 using channel lock pliers or a c-clamp compress the piston back into the caliper. step 3 reinstall pads and install on bike. If the piston will not compress you can open the fluid reservoir to release pressure, however you may have to bleed the brakes afterwards. Another option is to open the bleed valve on the caliper, compress, then top off resevoir. I prefer this method as it keeps the fluid fresh...

Ive read a strap wrench works great to hold the variator so you can just loosen it with a socket and breaker bar. No chance of breaking any fins that way. They only cost like 15 bucks and it should work for the clutch too Great idea, I'm a 12yr industrial maintenance mechanic/electrician and didnt think of that... Proof that our collective knowledge can solve just about any problem on these bikes.

No shiny metal in my oil keikara , I just recently changed my oil, gear oil and drive belt within the last 500km. If it is coming from anywhere in my CVT it's absolutely the variator area, which makes me scared for my crankshaft. Go for a 30min ride, then quickly pull the cvt cover and try again with the impact on the variator... if rusted on use a quality penetrating oil one spray every two hours, between sprays on the off hours try to impact it off. Didnt watch the vid but my hoca variator made my CVT noticiably louder due to the fan being different. Got even louder after the chromed/vented cover was installed. Edit:After watching the vid it definatly sounds like something imbalanced in either the cvt or clutch. If you can get the belt off run it without the belt and see if it sounds the same. This rules out the clutch. If you get the same noise then check the variator and the flywheel. If nothing is amiss on either end there then i regret to inform you that you will be splitting your case and inspecting the crank itself.

I agree with John about the flywheel. The little key thingies(that's the technical term), on the crankshaft can break. It happened to me. Any background on the scoot you can share? Have you seen it run? When? "Woodruff key" is the technical term, just a "key" for a shaft is square.

Did u sign an affidavit and how much did it cost ?? And how long do we have to get them The CMO either needs to be signed and notarized or yes you will have to do the affidavit. If the CMO is signed and notarized in your name you can use the updated MVR-1A form. They confiscate the CMO and give you a registration. (Legally now the state owns my bike, just like everyones vehicle...) Total cost was $23.00. Edit: License and theft beureau is giving a 30 day grace period for owners to come into compliance.

So, first day of the new tag law in NC I do the whole DMV shuffle and get the tag.
Get home to put it on and the tags do not line up with my tag mount. Easily fixed with a drill, and a couple bolts. Going to tack weld the bolts from the backside and put the nuts on the tag side for easy removal.
Anyone else run into this minor inconvenience?

Someone tried to steal my taotao speed 50 seems to me they busted the lock for the steering anyway to fix that so it will lock? Two metal tabs on the part where the tripletree connects to the frame. If these were broke it needs welding. Cheaper alternative is a out of sight kill switch. Mine has two on two differing circuits, and hasn't managed to go anywhere by itself yet...

Well upping it to a 38 from a 35 significantly reduced the popping, but not all of it, i thought the pop was from a lean condition? I have noticed my header and even the muffler getting very very hot and it's got me worried i adjusted the valves to .005 not too long ago as well popping can be lean cylinder or unburnt fuel ignighting in header...
