You can try to change the mode of transportation from car to walking or bicycling and see what it will show you.

There are a few things you can do to a 150cc to get more speed/power.
I think usually the first thing to do is to get it to breath better. First by a performance exhaust and then larger carburetor and intake and of course a performance air cleaner. Get that engine breathing better. More air flow more fuel=more power.
Next would be ignition. Performance CDI, good spark plug, performance coil. Better spark curve and good spark=more power.
Now that you got more power how do we get more speed?
A performance variator of course. A performance variator is 115mm in diameter. This allows the belt to ride up a bit higher which gives you a little bit more final drive ratio.
Installing a taller rear tire, if possible, will give you a higher final gear ratio.
And you can of course install new rear gears.
There are some simple suggestions for more power/speed without cracking open the engine.

I say pony up and get a 150cc. Insurance is cheap (why would you drive without it?), License plate fairly cheap, Helmet (don't be a statistic!). Take the class, if Michigan has/requires it, it's fun and you will learn things to help keep you alive like wear a helmet! If you want to go 45mph do it cheap and easy, buy a 150cc done.

Thank you!
More mods coming this winter. Top box and Panners, windscreen, performance variator, performance exhaust, larger carb and intake to name few.

Problem with just leaving a manual PC open is that if the float needle leaks just a little it will drain fuel into the intake and then down into the cylinder around the rings and into the oil. Don't ask me how I know, but I would rather mess with a vacuum actuated PC than forget to turn off the manual PC and have a headache 10 miles from home.

Just watch the advertising. They advertise 200cc, but a lot are only in the 160-180cc range.

Been a great little scoot and I love to drive it. The first upgrades where last year, performance CDI and coil. This year I wanted to replace the speedometer. The stock unit was off by 5-8mph and was a real pain to try to figure out. I also wanted a tach so I wound up with this little unit. www.ebay.com/itm/161649075588?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITI was not expecting much, but when it arrived I found it to be built quite good. This unit runs off of the original mechanical cable, no magnets. It is adjustable to different wheel sizes. I downloaded a speed app to my phone and taped the phone to the seat. Took no time to set to the right speed. So much nicer than guessing. I did have to use the original speedometer mount and make a adapter plate so the speedometer cable would connect in the right spot. I love this little thing, tach, speed, trip, odo, time, oil change indicator light, turn signal light, high beam light, low fuel light, it's cool. Wiring was pretty simple too. I was able to source the wires and reconfigure the original plugs so that it plugged right into the original wiring harness. The fuel sender wire was the only one that was different.

I just ran my 150cc scooter to work, 25 miles one way. Max speed limits there and back is 50mph, mostly country roads. My scoot tops out at 52mph at 7500rpm actual speed. Motor has more, but gearing says no. Advertised speed was 59mph, no way with this set up. Performance variator is going to be my first upgrade.

Not sure about the rectifier, but you can run the light bar directly off of the battery.

Parts for the online scooters are a dime a dozen. If you just need parts support and do your own work just order the parts online. The Chinese scooters use the old Honda GY6 motors. Do a search on ebay or just Google and see how many parts are available for those applications. I love my Chinese GY6 based scooter. Mine is a 150cc and I would recommend stepping up into the 150cc. It will keep up with traffic easily and be comfortable up to 45mph. The GY6 is a supper easy motor to work on. Usually if you need to do something to it just go to youtube and search for a video to walk you right through the process. Good luck. I have reviews of the sites I ordered from here itistheride.boards.net/thread/6552/greenearthscooters-com-powersportsbestAnd a review of the scooter here chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=13969
