I thought I was the only one still up... LOL!Yeah, back in '62, in that old photo, I was sixteen... Nearly 400 pounds of "all that on a stick" or so I thought... Duh... With age comes wisdom. I think! OMG! SIXTEEN! What a bruiser!

I am working on a 150cc GY6 engine that is practically new. It has a little over 100 miles on it, but was made in 2009.
After warming it up, when I rev the engine and hold it there for a few seconds, I get a "sneeze", or backfire, similar to the sound of a suppressor letting out air, or a ricochet. It's sort of a high pitched "pachooo!" sound. It sounds like the muffler is shooting out a nut or something. hehe.
It's not constant. In my tests it happens once, sometimes twice while the engine is running at high rpm.
I tried to record it but my phone's sound is horrible. It sounds like a garbled mess. I tried to find a sound like it on youtube but I couldn't find it, although it is similar to the echo of a rifle or a ricochet sound effect. I'm worried it might be something bad.
I have adjusted the valves and replaced the vacuum lines and it still does it.
What is this chuffing or sneezing sound and what causes it?

I dont know how you could ride a harley chopper in the snow when i encounter any snow with my scooter i start fishtailing like crazy
Back then, I was 6' 2" and 375 pounds.
Below, is the only surviving photo of me on the chop... You should have HEARD those straight-pipes cackle... SWEETEST sound this side of heaven.
Here I am today, with the missus, and "Minnie Mouse"... I've tamed-down a LOT!
Like many of the members here, if it's below 40, or slippery with snow and ice, I usually use the car...

I think I'd like that Burgman 650 executive. It's not the best looking bike I've seen but it's a scooter and it's got a big engine and and electronic cvt.

I'd try "double nutting" them, as shannen said. Put two nuts together on one stud and tighten them together, then unscrew the stud using the bottom nut.

For anyone interested in joining in, I'd like to know your "zero" times. Zero to 20, zero to 40, 45, 50, 55, etc. Please post them if you know them, or go out and find out and then tell us! Obviously the best run would be on level ground with little or no wind. Please include as much info about your setup as you can. For instance I am running a stock 150cc gy6 1P57QMJ type "A" engine with a 105-107mm(standard) variator, with an 835, 20, 30 belt, with 8gram dr pulley sliders, stock clutch, and 115 jet on 12" tires (120-70-12 on the rear). I weigh close to 300lbs, and, from what I've read, my scooter weighs 255-300 pounds (those poor tires!). You might have a bbk, big cam, stroker crank, fuel injection or whatever. If you include RPM data, please try to get the RPM at a certain MHP. i.e. 7500rpm@55mph. You can also include temperature, humidity, altitude, and any other data you can think of, but at least give us the zero times for whatever mph you choose to run from a standstill. Only include the info you are comfortable with.
Thanks! BTW I'm running an unofficial 0-50 of 20 seconds with the above setup. I'll go for an official run tomorrow at my favorite reference spot.

I know it's not a scooter. But most of, if not all, will apply to those who wish to paint/air brush a scooter. That looks really good. From a distance, looks like bowling ball, and then you see the skulls. Pretty sweet!

Through all my misery in trying to paint a whitewall on my old Kymco Grandvista, I got VERY interested in carefully maintaining tire pressure. The FRONT tire is not difficult to check and "air-up" but the REAR is a different story.
I was so frustrated when I went to fill up my tires for the first time. I don't know why someone pointed the valve stem toward the disk side in the rear!
