I don't know how to adjust it. The service manual I found for the similar Hyosung model said "remember the settings when you take apart the carb". lol. But it was already fiddled with when I got it. It's running well on the stand but I don't want to make it overheat by making it too lean.

I haven't adjusted a carb with low and high speed screws for a very long time. I'm working on a 2007 Hyosung SD50 scooter. Still looking for a diagram of which screw is the low and the high. I'm mainly concerned about adjusting it too lean and damaging the engine. Can someone give me a refresher on how to adjust a carb with high and low speed screws?

If it's a broken tab I have made a new tab or piece of slot out of aluminum sheet with some extra material to glue to. Easy to cut with scissors. Epoxy it to the body. Nice and strong. Same for a break or big crack. One day I'll try some plastic sheet glued to the panels.

I watched Knight Rider for the car. I watched MacGyver for RDA. Yes. MacGuyver was The Man! The only thing I didn't like about the show was that there always seemed to be a keg of black powder in every store room the stupid bad guys locked him in. Yes, "let's lock him in here with this keg of explosives. D'oh!"  |

I am thinking of doing a CVT upgrade and have been reading up on the subject. As the weather around here has slipped below freezing I do not plan on starting the project soon but will wait until early next year. I am looking for more speed at the high end and am willing to sacrifice acceleration off the line. I have not, but plan to, re-jet the carb and open up my air intake at around the same time as the CVT change.
I have seen recommendations that different manufacturers parts should not be mixed together. I am thinking about the NCY kit as my choice. I was wondering why they have a 1,000 rpm main spring with this kit? I've seen many people recommend a 1,500 rpm main spring for people doing my kind of upgrade.
Would the spring from this kit get me the right kind of shifting or should I get a 1,500 spring at the same time?
The laziest spring should be best for top speed. |

Hey dmartin95 - now that ANOTHER ancient thread has been resurrected, how did the scooter rentals work out?  It failed before it ever got off the ground... There's a lot of insurances and licensing fee's and Yadda, yadda, Yadda... For my area, (Michigan) it being a seasonal thing and all, it just wasn't worth it. But I can give you all an update on what became of all 3 of them. I sold all 3 of them (to different customers) to the tune of $900 each. Only advertising method was Craigslist.... I made $300 Profit off of each one. I sold them in the Spring time after doing really good PDI's and having them run perfect. Assembly of these scooter are super simple, but there's a lot of quirks that required fixing. If someone is thinking of going this route to make some extra cash, just know ahead of time, you will need to be mechanically inclined. If you are mechanically inclined and have the storage space, it's a pretty good way to make a little bit of extra coin. To summarize, rental was a no go but still wasn't a bust.  I have the same problem here in Florida. If you buy or sell, I think two or more vehicles, you are considered a dealer, yes even for used bikes, and are supposed to have a vehicle dealer license, which involves around $1,000 in fees and whatnot, plus approval for the site by the state, etc. It's crazy what a person has to do in this country just to do the most simple things to make some money. |
