This is a tough one, I'll have to go with David, MacGyver was a pacifist, I guess that rests some points on it's favor.

Besides that, Mac drove an old pickup, an army-style Jeep, and I believe on occasion rode motorcycles. Michael drove, and oftentimes merely rode, in KITT (who, if my memory is correct, got sillier and sillier-yet features as the series aged).

ricardoguitars Wait. Are we doing Richard and Dave or Angus MacGuyver and Michael Knight?  I watched both shows but I know nothing about the actors other than Dave's drunken bathroom burger video.

The only thing I didn't like about the show was that there always seemed to be a keg of black powder in every store room the stupid bad guys locked him in. Yes, "let's lock him in here with this keg of explosives. D'oh!"  |

Another comparison--Hoff did Baywatch, RDA did Stargate: SG1. Light fluff vs pretty good solid sci-fi. Bikinis and Speedos vs guns and those way-cool Anubis masks.
I'm sure the guys will vote bikinis, but this lil' 'Kat went for space over sand.

Funny story--my old boss and his boss were around when somehow MacGyver got brought up. They were both amazed I liked the show. They were like, "It's totally a guys' show." I said, "No, it's totally a gals' show too." They said, "Hello, duck tape." I said, "Hello, Richard Dean Anderson, duh."
I won that argument.

Hoff was a heavy drinker, like Richard Burton. (I hope Hoff is still on the wagon). It is macho to stuff your feelings and drink.
