Yes we need to know your budget , are you an experienced rider and wrencher , do you have or plan on getting a motorcyle license required for larger than 50cc , will it be an around the block and short distance toy or daily driver .
If you have the money Honda , Aprilia , Kymco are better than the China scooters . I had a TaoTao and it was a so I would never suggest them even though they are common and many hear have one . Peace Sports is about the same . I have a Jonway and I am very happy with it . I also have a CFMoto Echarm but they are no longer imported but if your looking for a 150 there is a few CFMoto Glories out there . CFMoto has liquid cooled engine instead of air cooled , EFI as does my Echarm but some have a carb , disc brakes F&R instead of crappy cabled drum brakes , and a 2 year full warranty with unlimited miles . I have over 17k miles on mine with only oil changes and a single valve adjustment .
So give us more info to work with in order to be able to give you suggestions .

I use this BBK and it runs strong shop.jupiterscooters.net/Cylinder-kit-75cc-Minarelli-10mm-wrist-pin-Made-in-Taiwan-MGMP0108-75CC-10mmpin.htmMake sure to double check the wristpin clips as I and another member had one come out and it ate up the engine . I put in one with the piston in my hand since limited clearance , as I removed the body and fan shrouds instead of dropping the entire engine assembly . Mesure your wristpins as they come in 10mm an 12mm but you may have a 10mm as I do . Wiseco is a high end company that machines parts out of billet instead of casting , which means it is stronger and they forged it once on some and twice on higher priced pistons . I used a WiseCo in my Honda CR125 and it ran like a beast with it being not only forged , but lighter , larger ports ( racing model ) and had a shorter skirt . It took me 40 mins to remove the pipe , main body as a single piece , fan shroud and the engine is so easy with only for nuts to remove and with angled sanp ring pliers the wristpins . I went to Oreillys and bought a compression ring plier as when I first rebuild a moped 30 years ago I broke the rings when I tried to install by hand . Make sure to use plenty of 2T oil or engine assembly grease instead of installing dry . Once you get the second ring started into the cylinder you may need a rubber mallet to tap it on down as I did . I put one the exhaust and did a test fire , let it idle and gave it a lil rev up and shut it down and retorqued the head nuts before putting the shroud and body back on

Thanks Fugaziiv as I wanted to hear from at least one person before I ordered it . I have a 19mm TK that uses Mikuni VM11/22 main jets . I saw many jet kits for Dellorto and other big name carbs but none for my TK . It was easy to find MJs but and IJ only www.jupiterscooters.net had one and yikes for 10 bucks ! . I have a Uni and racing pipe which is way too loud so I want to retune to use the stock pipe for now and get a Leo Vince HM70 later on and put the airbox back on since with a Uni I can not ride in the rain

The jets for a 2T are not the same size as a 4T so they will not fit . Many use Mikuni VM11/22 main jets . Measure your jets with a caliper and you may want to get the jet kit for tuning it www.partsforscooters.com/114-50-Minarelli-Main-Jet-Kit?sc=34&category=133078 With an airfilter or an exhaust mod both will require a larger main jet . There is no set formula on what size to use as it has variables like altitude and climate so what works for one may not another . I had a 68MJ and went with a 75MJ in my 2T 50cc scoot . I later put on a small UNi ( not the big red airfilter but a vent cover ) and used a 90MJ and it ran great . With airbox and stock exhaust it may sputter as it may deliver more fuel than it can use . When I put on a BBK and racing pipe I had to test a few MJs in order to get it running right as at first I tried too large and it would spit gas out of the Uni

I bought Bandos for both scooters and darn they had a vibration that they stock belts did not . My dealer told me Bando makes belts for Honda and CFMoto and I bought it since he said it was the same and cheaper . Next time it will be a CFMoto ( brand of my scooter ) . My 2T had a Gates which is good but I opted for Bandos since they are made in Japan instead of China .
Also replace your tires and brake pads or shoes BEFORE they are worn all the way down too .

With an exhaust and or airfilter upgrade , like a Uni both require upjetting . Now you can run straight pipe providing its long enough and your jetting is right like many Harley riders do , but may get a ticket for it being too loud . A buddy who drinks too much broke of his muffler in a mishap . I warned him about it being too lean and even gave him a Gy6 jey kit I had bought and offered to help him change out the main jet for a larger one . Well did not take my advice and even broke off the pipe at the head . It ran too lean , got hot and the exhaust valve head broke off and ate up his engine . His engine is in the picture and had to buy a new cylinder and piston kit . Jets are far cheaper than a new engine ! Attachments:

Bogging on a 2T is bad news !!! . I ran a 75 MJ with airbox and stock exhaust . I bought the small Uni in the picture that was really a vent cover instead of an airfilter and used a MJ and it ran great . I later bought the proper big red Uni oiled it but my dealer nor did the over a dozen scooter and motorcycle shops have my type of jet larger than a . Being impatient I decided to try it anyways . I had just a slight bog but no stall and I only wanted to go around the block . It seized and I had to push it home . It even melted the tip off of the spark plug and in my over 30 years of wrenching never once had this happen to me . I know it is easy to order Mikuni VM11/22 main jets like from www.power-barn .com and others but they only sell them as singles rather than a kit . Well PFS now sells a Minarelli jet kit for only 15 bucks www.partsforscooters.com/114-50-Minarelli-Main-Jet-Kit?sc=34&category=133078With a 2T you always want to be a lil rich to be safe and have it perform good !! I carry enough tools to do almost any roadside repair . Many have battery powered impact wrench . It is a VERY good idea to have plenty of tools including a flash light

You are running too lean !!!! You need to install a larger main jet or you will burn it up !!! . Remove the main jet to use as a base and get a larger one . What size can vary from place to place so it may take several tests with diff sizes . I would get a jet kit since it is far cheaper than buying jets at a per jet price and nice to have extras should you need them for later like with an airfilter mod which also requires you to upjet . Here is an example of a jet kit for a 50 www.partsforscooters.com/114-49-QMB139-Main-Jet-Kit?sc=34&category=133078

My dealer told me many are need the valves adjusted out of the crate . Very important that you should have changed the shipping oil and gear lube before you rode it . Even if you have you should change it now as when new the rings grind down in the cylinder and the oil will have ring dust in it . The amount of dust varies according to how you do a break in . Use any brand name 10w40 engine oil , regular not synthetic yet , and use GL5 which is 80w90 gear lube for the gears . Belt should be fine even if a generic and for belts only use a Gates or Bando brand of belt . Now if you got it online or from a local shop who sells them as they come without tweaking it as my dealer does , then yes you will want to make some improvements . I had a TaoTao ATMa that was a " secret 63 " and it would outrun many stock 50s . A buddy just bought a TaoTao from another dealer who only uncrates and puts on the mirrors and I can outrun him on my mountain bike . I rode it and darn it was so sloooooow . 50s have EPA restrictions like too small of a main jet in the carb and some have a restrictor washer in the variator which limits the speed . Here is a great page for derestricting tips www.scootnfast.com/scooter/Tuning_mods/De-Restricting.htmNow if you do not have the restrictor washer what you should do is remove the variator weights which are roller types ( slider weights are after market item and much better choice ) weigh on a digital scale and get lighter rollers or even better Dr Pulley sliders . Lighter weights will improve take off and up hill but too light will hurt top end and MPG . I had 8 grams and got some 5 grams and it was amazing the improvement on take off and uphill and had the same top end but with more RPMs . You may want to get this weight tuning kit with various weights as you can mix 2 diff weights like 3 4g and 3 5g to equal 4.5g . These weights are for tuning and not meant for long term use . Once you find an amount that works get 1 gram heavier in Dr Pulley or Koso sliders . Here is some tuning tips www.provoscooter.com/tuningNow a 50cc is only 3 cubic inches so a small engine will never perform like a car or motorcycle . To get more power you need to get a BBK which is a larger piston and cylinder kit , which will require at least a larger main jet or even better a 20mm carb that you can adjust the air/fuel screw ( stock carbs are often sealed ) , some have the carb bowl riveted on instead of screws and you have to remove the bowl in order to access the idle and main jet in order to install larger ones and many stock carbs have no needle clip to adjust its position . Since it is new I would ride it as after 700 or more miles the piston will not be as tight as when new and move easier , just like new shoes can be tight but once broken in they get comfy . For a BBK hands down the best kit is the Air Sal 50mm BBK which I put in mine and I am shocked that it can be bought for 49 dollars as it is 100 more other places . This kit uses the stock head so there less parts to buy but you should use an extra base gasket as compression will be higher than the 40mm or 50cc piston . The Air Sal in made in Spain rather than China , is machined and has ceramic coating to prevent heat damage . I cracked a 63 piston and another exploded so no way did I want another . When the 2nd piston exploded I did research and joined the old scooter place , learned I was not the only one with issues and was suggested the Air Sal kit too . I was used to Honda and European moped , scooter and motorcycles and that was my first China scoot and I learned real fast they are far from being as good as a Honda . Here it is but they said out of stock as it was on sale and many here have gotten one www.spi-parts.com/gy6-airsal-81cc-big-bore-cylinder-kit-02350150.htmlScrappydog scooters is another great place to get parts , power kits or even an 80cc crate engine as well www.scrappydogscooters.com/139QMB_50cc_Performance.htmlSometimes a stiffer contra ( also called torque ) spring can help up hill

You have gotten mote miles out of yours than many do on the 50s . Get a new Gates or Bando belt ASAP and keep the old as a spare . Belts usally have wear signs like teeth missing and fraid cords as well as thinner too . It is best to change it BEFORE is breaks as you could wreck with the rear wheel locked up , no fun to push it home , and a belt broken while riding can and has damaged the pulleys . I changed the belt on my 2T at 4,400 miles even though it still looks great and could get 2,000 more miles perhaps . Kevlar belts are stiffer , have vibration and known to damage parts when they break . So I would get a nonKevlar belt . I got one and it is no where as smooth as my stock Gates belt was . I bought a Bando 788 17 28 which many longcase 2Ts use .
My Echarm I got 12,000 miles out of it and could have gotten 1,000 more but it is not worth the risk and hassle of having to change it on the roadside instead at home

Interesting a 2T exhaust on a GY6 50 hmmmm . How would you say performance and MPG were compared to the stock exhaust ?
